No one is saying that Chelsea are not a good team, what people are saying is that there seems to be built in inferiority complex in some blues, it was the same last season with Liverpool, you would have thought that we have been lucky in all our victories this season and none of it is down to having excellent players and a great management team.

We are as good if not better than Chelsea, we had a slow start to the season (just like last season) but are starting to come good even with the injury crisis

Then why do people say last nights result was a fluke - Chelski played them off the park

hope we can keep fluking games like that

A consummate performance by Chelski - they are certainly title contenders and City will do well to come out on top at the end of the season. Do not know why people on here do not give them the credit they deserve, they are world class and so is their manager.

agreed, nothing to chose between the two of us

Yes, they're a very good side and it's going to be a close title race this season. It's petty to say they're fluking wins and not giving them the credit they deserve. We would be eulogising on here if we'd put in that performance last night.

The first goal was a fluke, and goals can change games especially in Chelsea's case, but that's not the point I am getting at, it's the constant doing down of City by certain posters who seem to like wallowing in a morass of doom and gloom, like I have said previously I think it's a self defence thing, a pessimist is never disappointed they say, of course I get disappointed if we lose but I am not surprised when we win I know (and so does every other fan in the country) that we are one of the top teams in the PL and I am confident in out ability

Typical City died a long time ago (if it ever existed in the first place)

We agree to disagree yet again, if you really do not think that there was only one team deserving of a win last night you really need a reality check. The title race is between Chelski and us and for my own perspective there is little to chose between two top rate teams. You see it differently - you are of course entitled to it but have no doubt - Chelski will prove to be far more of a formidable opponent than the Bin Dippers did last season. They are just as worthy of being title contenders as we are, that is not putting City in a negative light just an affirmation of the real threat that they are.

Some say that is the true mark of champions

Chelsea and ourselves are the best two teams in the league by a country mile, may the best team win

Were do I see it different than you, I have never said Chelsea are not a top team they clearly are, what I am saying don't underestimate City and it's quite obvious that it is between us and Chelsea and I have failed to see a single team that comes up tot eh the same standards

This is it, though, isn't it? Anybody who watched the Villa-Rags, then the Dippers-Arse games this weekend must have been struck by how poor the general level of the PL is this season, apart from ourselves and Chelsea. United, Arsenal, Liverpool: these are supposed to be the among the big boys, the contenders. I thought they were dire.
What there is to choose between ourselves and Chelsea is, I think, the overall depth of the two squads. Let's imagine Chelsea without Costa, Hazard, Terry, for a few weeks, all at the same time. And in between times, Fabregas out for a lengthy spell. How would they do? We can but wonder. This is in effect the situation we've been playing in for about seven weeks. Now I don't wish injuries on them, I want us to take this title fair and square. I just wish to God that we could play with our full, unquestioned first team for most of a season. It hasn't happened since 2011-12 when, unless my memory is playing tricks on me, Vinnie and Sergio in particular had a nearly injury-free season. Anyway, I still think we'll be alright. It'll be very close by the time we go to the Bridge, I'm certain of that, and that will be a huge game. We can get a point there, definitely, even three, if we're on our game. This is in any case an interesting season. Anyway, lip service to the thread title: bring on the West Brom game. Anybody else finding that having to wait nearly a full week now each time to see our beloved team play leaves them pining the week away? It's good for the injury recovery situation, though, obviously.

With Chelsea kicking off earlier than City on Boxing Day (i.e. v West Ham) they could be 6 pts ahead of us by the time we start v WBA at the Hawthorns. Thus as with all games these days 3 vital pts needed against a WBA side struggling after the deafest at QPR.

Hopefully Joleen Lescott has scored his goal for this season for WBA and has no nasty surprises for us. Wonder if Berahino will start for West Brom.

Still feel City can be vulnerable away, at home feel we can beat anyone under any circumstances.

A Bit of Silva magic and Toure power the order of the day for the West Brom game..

Our away form is very impressive 1 defeat in chumps lge (last min at bayern) and 1 defeat in prem at west ham (how we lost i don't know! ) add 2 draws in the prem arse and qpr and 1 in chumps lge at moscow (robbed by the ref) I'm more confident playing away when teams have to come out a little! Looking at what I've wrote though I hope our results in london start to improve rapidly!

I'd play the same team as last game but instead of going 4-2-3-1 play them 4-3-3 ... with Milner dropping in behind with Yaya and Fern and top three of Silva in the middle with Navas on Roght and Nasri left.

Actually when I first saw the team sheet against Palace, I was convinced that's how we'd line up but then BT Sport showed Milner as lone striker up top and throughout the game I kept thinking he isn't doing much up on his own then why doesn't Pellegrini change it to a 4-3-3 and go all Barca style tika taka ... we have the players to play that, then why not try that formation till our strikers are back!

I would stick with Milner - he has not had a bad game for a while. Put Pozo on the bench and bring him on when/if the game is won. - or Ambrose/Hiwalua.

0 - 2 City

The best way to win the PL is to battle it out with others teams till the end. I don't want the PL turn into the German league (Bayern has definitely killed that league singlehandedly) or the Spanish league with Barca and Real, with the odd exception once in a while. I wouldn't mind having at least 4 or 5 teams challenging for us to come out winners (and rags 5th).
As it is now it pretty much looks like City and Chelsea. May the best win. The game end January will not decide anything as we know best since 2012 and this year.

As for WBA, they have a dangerous forewardline with some pacey players that can hit us on the counter-attack. Lescott might be playing his best game ever, I still reckon we are good enough to beat them. We seem to have learned how to grind out a result the ugly way. That is all what matters during the festive fixtures: gaining as many points as possible.

You all have a good X-mas.
