we are going to need a bigger stadium!

RE: Bayern

Munich tickets seem to be selling faster than Napoli and Villarreal tickets did at the same stage... this is a glamour fixture and more fans will recognise it as such, even though the potential is there for it to be something of a dead rubber if we lose to Napoli. The price hike is fully justified IMO, we're playing arguably the 4th biggest club in the world.

let's hire Old Trafford ;-)
I like that - knock it flat and use it as overflow parking ... ha ha ha

I suppose some mini gene kelly scaffolding in the corners could squeeze another 500 in but thats about it for 'reorganising seating' unless we wanted to move to tight-arse-old-trafford seating proportions - I swear they'd only get 60,000 in the swamp if their seat spacing was the same as ours

Out of town parking ? Would never work unless the council did a park and ride.

If we increased to say 52-55k what would the increase in matchday revenue approx?

I think the real money is in corporate sales, that is how the rags have just managed to announce such big revenue as they finally managed to sell out all the corporate boxes. I think us "normal" fans contribute on a smaller scale to the matchday revenue.

Corporate as in big companies having days out at the match etc and paying for the privelage.? Just out of interest are all the boxes sold at City? Or will this happen when and if we get a bigger stadium?

once we lose a couple the doom and gloomers will disappear were a long way of filling a 60K stadium

Don't you mean they will reappear?

Regardless, we will need a larger capacity.....of that, I have no doubt whatsoever.

Would it not be easier and cheaper for building costs etc for them to expand the stadium in sections larger than a few thousand at a time? I dont have a clue about how it works but if this is true then surely they would wait until they could sell out a 55-60 000 seater until they bothered expanding it?

Either way I recon they would wait until the end of the season results and until the academy developments get under way before they would submit planning permission and even after that we'd have ages waiting for approval and construction etc

Apparently adding an extra 1000 is pretty easy but 5000 the roof needs coming of and that is a major job to do

Not really surprising as it sold out three weeks ago.

I think he did, but I know what he means, it would not be good buisiness to expand the stadium at the moment, lets just see how the season goes, and if we keep selling out

if the rags are so good at selling to corporates, why are they advertising their hospitality packages so much on talkshite? I think their corporates are drifting away

Can you explain that mate?

Firstly lay off the crack pipe, secondly it would take maybe 3 years to design and build new stands to accommodate 60k+ which would also give us 3 years of reduced income from ticket sales. As our stock rose through this period and we acquired new fans they would join a waiting list and be offered season tickets upon completion of the works In 3 years if we couldn't fill 60k for the prem games we might as well pack up and play darts

Not just TalkShite mate, i`ve heard it on other stations too along with plenty of adverts in local and national newspapers, bet they advertise abroad too.
