we are going to need a bigger stadium!

Extending makes good sense. Doesn't impact on FFPR but the income from extra seat sales does. Normal commercial investment rules don't apply - the owner has money enough to do what he likes, and the FFPR makes this a special case.

A lot of people worry too much about 'empty seats' jibes from Rag tossers. When Maine Road held 63,500 we often had empty seats/spaces, but we filled it for certain matches. Paradoxically, I believe a lot don't go at present because of the hassle of getting tickets. If it was known that you could walk up at 2-30 pm for a 3-00 pm kick off and get a ticket with no probs, more would go. A bit of spare capacity is no bad thing - it would also help segregate the sitters/standers/kiddies/moaners/tourists/whatever awkward segment you care to mention.

I can see your point, but I dont think it would do us too much harm to go through a limited period when "sold out" signs are fairly common. At the risk of induging in marketing speak it "adds to the brand value", makes people think they are part of a priveleged group. Its why millions of people applied for olympic tickets for events they're not really interested in just so they can say "I was there".

Peversely, from the club's financial perspective, one of the best things about the FA Cup Final was that thousands of City fans couldnt get tickets. It was hugely signinicant in that it enabled the club to launch platinum seasoncards. And I know that reading comments on Bluemoon from disgruntled fans made me join the cup schemes.

The sold out signs that we are starting to see will undoubtedly put off some fans. But I think that will be more than offset by increased seasoncard sales next year, more people joining the cup schemes and, overall, an increase in bums on seats.

Equally sir I can see your point, and it's a reasonable one. But I am not a fan of 'privilege' and to my mind if a single City fan is unnecessarily excluded from 'our' ground - we can do nowt about away matches and Wembley - the club has failed in a prime objective.

And like I said, every extra fan adds that little bit extra to revenue. If they happen to be corporates, that's even more the case, but even the ordinary Joe spends upward of £30 a pop, minimum.

look into the future and i see a bigger stadium our great owners want our great club to be the best in the world that's how they roll in abu dhabi

Im sure this is a recurring theme, that newbies (that would include me to be honest) miss.....but we literally EXHAUSTED this topic a few short months back. There were some truly brilliant, insightful posts, about the engineering, and financial requirements, and also the cost to us fans regarding closed sections and the actual physical side to expansion.

Everything is in place to increase the stadium capacity,be patient it will def happen,we don't need a CEO to make it happen, feasability has been done months ago including test digs behind the south stand, our owners know a 60,000 capacity stadium is essential for growth and revenue.that commitment will come when they are sure the product,is under demand but that has to include champions league sellouts or close to it,be patient.

I hope so the more city fans the better as far as I'm concerned.

Also feel we need a ticket exchange service back, despite being sold out there were a few empties in the Family Stand due to no-shows.
