I think we will have to win in Rome, and although we could do it and should do it, I just don't think this group of players have the self belief. I hope I'm proved wrong on this.

If we do come up short, please god let us go out playing with the spirit and purpose we lacked second half tonight.
It's in our hands, so if we play with spirit and purpose we should be OK

Let the pundits write their City European obituary and let Utd fans gloat. I don't want to hear a peep out of Pellegrini or a City player, I want them to save it all for WHU, Newcastle, Man Utd and CSKA.

Perform in those games and we'll be well on our way in 3 competitions.

What the hell do those stupid pigfuckers have to gloat about? Barely drawing at home to West Brom? Their massive supporters' club in Jakarta? A lack of "fixture congestion?"

Last month I went into sever drug withdrawal, shattered my hand and yesterday my computer fried. But that doesn't suck more ass than City failing in Europe. It gives credence to our enemies who can point to our lack of CL success and rate us second class. I'd gladly take a team of SOBS who play tough when it counts rather than as bunch of beef that phones it in. The organization promises long term investment, but there is something lacking at in the locker room. There. Now kill me.

Patience is the key to success.

We need to constantly tinker with the squad to bring in the right mix of players that can attack successfully on both fronts.

We need those players with the mindset to compete with the better teams in Europe in each year and of course a manager who can implement the strategy to do that.

MP was never going to be the manager to get us competing favourably with the big boys especially in Europe in any case and lets face it our only player as part of a Chumps winning side is on the worse side of 30 and isn't the type of player that will feature in another Chumps League winning side.

Yes it would be a disappointment if we didn't finish ahead of Roma but its not the end of the world.

We were struggling in the premiership a few years ago and not many sides outside a select few have managed to win the premiership since the premier league started and two of them aren't even in the league at present.

Unfortunately patience is running out for many City fans in the CL but qualification is still in our hands, it just got a lot more difficult.

Btw, Leeds have never won the Prem, it was the last year of the football league when they were last champions, 1991/92.

I used them as an example of a side like Blackburn that were from the " good old days" of ownership that were never geared for anything but boom and bust.

If after four years fans are running out of patience then they had better prepare themselves for more disappointment.

Everyone knows we have under performed to date in Europe not only this year but in other years as well.

I can guarantee you most if not all this squad will not be around for the first time we hold the trophy aloft.

The seeds are being sown slowly but surely even if it doesn't appear to bearing fruit on match days.

We are making mistakes on and off the field but even the most naive cannot keep making the same mistakes for ever.

In years to come we will look back on this period as part of the learning curve.

Getting out of the group stage has its benefits but its not the end to end all ends.

As many have said we would be a sitting shot for one of the sides that will progress further than us anyway.

My only concern would be if the side was effected domestically as a result which hasn't been the case so far.

From a financial fair play point of view it would be a disaster.

The owners want success in Europe. I guess they couldn't really give a fuck about the carling cup. They will continue changing managers until they get it.

If Bayern beat Roma next match as you'd expect, and we beat CSKA as you'd expect, we'll be in 2nd place and facing an already-guaranteed-top Bayern at home while Roma travel to Russia.

And as for going away to Roma, if Bayern beat them 7-1 tonight and we are realistically aiming to win the competition this year...

Yes, people seem to be ignoring that CSKA v Roma fixture

Wow, just read several threads regarding the Moscow game and have to add my admiration for the blues who travelled and tried to support the team. Personally I doff my cap to you all but my overriding sentiment is one of heightened disgust towards UEFA.
As a point of principle I refuse to attend games for this particular competition and although I understand many fans will also be upset with UEFA but still want to put the team first, I do hope at some stage City fans protest by refusing to attend en masse or at very least boo the CL theme tune or turn their backs to the pitch whilst it plays at the next home game.
UEFA blatant disregard for City and their supporters is too much for me, coupled with corrupt officials that go right to the top is enough to turn my stomache. If we qualify we will have to endure further insult, hate this competition with a passion.
