there is no point us, as a club, saying we won't be held to ransom by clubs. at the end of the day thay KNOW we have money so are going to spank our backsides a bit.

if, in our current wealth situation, we were worried about being ripped off than i'm afraid we aren't going to sign any one. we're going to have to take it on the chin, if we want a certain player the we are going to have to pay over the odds. WHOEVER that player happens to be,

just get the fuckin cheque book out and get these deals done.

I'd rather we show a bit of patience, get the right players in and finance the rebuilding of other teams as little as possible.

We should be building a team that will achieve next season, so if we have to wait until the summer then so be it.

And I'd be having a good look at those about to be Bosmans, or a year away and start planning how we can get the best of them for nothing or at least without paying silly money.

If we're looking at true quality though, then I'm fine with overpaying a bit.

I agree marcus I think it would be a big risk to not sign anyone just because we have to pay a bit more.I think just now because of the position we are in it is imperative that we get at least a proven striker and CB.

It's quite obvious that the selling clubs are taking the piss and City are playing hard ball with them, and the club have my full support, we get taken for mugs once, we will get taken for mugs every time!

Chelsea got shafted with their early signings and a couple of years down the line they've got to sell players to hope to bring players in. Back to square one. No such thing as a bottomless money pit!

but we gotta start some where?

and let me tell you, these arabs have a 'porous oil well'. when it emptiesl it fills back up. repeatedly. so its as good as a bottomlees pit

If only things were as simple as that, City will not be shafted get over it

I know most of what's been banded about price-wise is paper talk but I reckon our owners wouldn't mind paying stupid money (£40m, £50m etc.) for a world superstar, but I don't think they'll pay £10m-£15m for players who aren't regular Internationals. And I dont think they want to clear the debts of all the mid-table Prem clubs either! :D

So what happens if we don't cough up and buy, then get relegated cause we did'nt strengthen. Where do we go from there ??. I'm afraid we will have to pay over the odds at this window or get nobody. Fact of life, they all know we have the dosh.
