WE WERE BRILLIANT AGAINST VILLA!

WE WERE BRILLAINT AGAINST VILLA!

Probably the best performance I have seen from City this season. The whole of the team was dedicated and was getting stuck in which was brilliant to see and some great football at the same time.

Dunne was awesome tonight, Zab sorted Young all night and didn't give him a sniff, best game Bridge has had for us so far, Kompany totally controlled midfield.

And Wright-Phillips was fucking brilliant, took it upon himself to be the main man tonight due to the obvious absentees. Great creativity and the Shaun we all love.

And the atmosphere also was brilliant, fans were top class and was a great night.

Lets push on from here some, tough games coming up but if we play like that then I think we can pick some away points up for a change.

COME ON CITY!
It was A fantastic performance by all the players, the manager, and of course the supporters tonight. Happy days. Our day is dawning.

I have to say pre-match I didn`t fancy us for a win,how wrong could I be?
It was obvious within 5 minutes we were up for it.Couldn`t fault anyone, even Elano who I don`t think has been at his best.
They did ralleya bit inthe second half, just after De Jong went off,but even then the defense held up well supported by midfield.
SWP,Ireland,Dunne were particularly good.Hardly a foot out of place.Big Phil struggled a bit,but he does unsettle opponents,as he did tonight, with his strength.
I wonder how it would have been if the ref had some balls and shown Milner a red for that ridiculous challenge on SWP?
All in all a great result.

Even Gelson :)

I think his injury took about 100mph off his speed...still gets around but seemed to make more intelligent runs instead of having headless chicken syndrome. His passing was even a little more direct than being backwards and sideways everytime. Nice comeback Gelson.

That'swhat I meant to write. Am a little tipsy :)

Yeh agree, Gelson had a good game tonight.
^^^^^^^^^^^Agreed.

been smiling all day!feared something ugly, but the boys really showed some ticker out there.great to see a consistant performance from everyone on the park.villa may be in a bit of a slump but good teams turn them around quick smart and im bloody glad it wasnt against us! 7th in sight- must be due for 3 points away soon!

I'm going to counter anyone saying Villa stood off us in the first half with the fact that we were really up for it tonight and we carved them to pieces with our movement, passing and desire to win the ball. I haven't seen that from a City team for ages. Well done to Hughes fot getting these players so motivated. MOTM for me was Ireland he had one of his best ever games he was truly fantastic. Special mention to Dunne a brilliant display of defending.

Fanatstic display in the first half...Dunne man of the match for me, closely followed by Kompany (in the first half that's the best i've seen him...excellent anticipation and didn't give the ball away once, (his usual failing for me) SWP and ireland. Can we now drop this three holding midfielders...we don't need it....a fit kompany and de jong are more than enough with zab at right back and elano providing the creativity and interplay with swp and ireland which we saw last night. i know villa only had the two central midfielders with two wide, but for me let the opposition worry about us than the other way round...with 3 holding in midfield we never look like scoring. I have to say though that with de jong going off injured, it emphasised the lack of quality in our squad as a whole. Disagree with those who say fernandez was good...i thought he was as poor as he always is...a championship player and for me he's a red card waiting to happen...he can't time his tackles....and big phil upfront , well when he first came back into the side earlier this season i thought i might have been wrong about him and too quick to judge, but last night and other recent performances, oh dear. He lacks that yard of pace if he's going to play off the shoulder and and if he's a target man he just can't make the ball stick..well done to evans who looked good.

The whole team played brilliant if we play like that consistently we could win the UEFA. Cant help thinking people forget about Onouha and how well he played last night. Our 2 best performances this season schalke and last night and both without Robbie.
