WE WERE BRILLIANT AGAINST VILLA!

Love these positive comments on Bluemoon?

Surely this is what its all about?

Again I have to say the atmosphere was brilliant last night and I hope people turn up again for Aalborg next week, we need to get behind the lads for that one.

In some ways, I think having Robinho in the side inhibits the players, they will always look for him to get the ball to, rather than look for the best pass. Now that other teams are aware of what rob can do, they often double mark him and often our attacks break down because of that. It is a bit like last season, when oppositions sussed what an important player Elano was for us then.

Last night our attacks came from all over the place, thanks to the vision of Ireland and Elano, and caused Villa all sots of problems, especially in the first half. Now I'm not saying we are a better team without rob, but it seems to me that city function differently, and on last night's evidence, more effectively when he is absent. Combine last night's style of play, with rob in the team and we will really be on to something.

Totally agree with you about Robinho.

Am i the only one who thought Gelson was crud when he came on? and our midfield shape disintergrated slightly when De Jong came off?

He runs a lot but doesn't do anything with the ball, nor does he seem to be in the right place at the right time like De Jong was.

Other than that, i agree - we were fantastic across the pitch and Villa should consider themselves lucky to only lose by 2 goals.

We restricted them to one shot on target all game, that's testament to our defence.

Was great to see the players shouting their heads off at each other making sure that every one stayed focused and tuned into what was going on. Zab had a fantastic game in defence and I think he should be first choice RB and Richards left on the bench. Great result and performance all round

definitely not the only one. especially on the midfield disintegration when de Jong came off. night and day.

he could improve over time, it seems an intelligence/experience issue. Gelson's just not making smart decisions at this time.

de jong has started to remind me of the great m v foe :) his best game yet for city hope he's not injured we will need him against chelski

We did lose abit of shape immediately after De Jong went off however it's too be expected, Gelson's young and inexperienced and after awhile I felt he settled down and had a decent game, working hard and moving the ball forward for a change, I reckon he'll come very good with age.

Elano - what a difference a goal makes. Prior to his penalty he was playing like such a mard arse, at one point he lost the ball, put his head down and walked off in the other direction. After his penalty (does he ever miss them BTW?) he was a different man, chasing down, getting stuck in and playing his short intricute passes that suit our style better. I( watched him when he came off and he and Hughes shook hands and hugged, good to see and hopefully positive signs for the future.

Big Phil - Great game. He held the ball up, took men on and bought others into play. I'm delighted for him, all his performance was missing was a goal which would have eventually shut the idiot behind me up. Shouting 'GET HIM OFF HUGHES' everytime he makes na mistake does not help anybody.

Bridge - Best game since his debut, great going forward and solid at the back.

I don't know how the boo boys managed last night as there was nobody they could barrack.

excellent last night it just goes to show if we'd have won just 3 or 4 extra aways we'd have a nailed on uefa spot, if not champs lg. get some money spent in summer then roll on next season!!

danny

The boo boys were having a great time around me getting stuck in to first Caceido and then Gelson. These are two young players learning their trade in a foreign place, in the best and fastest league in the world. Not that I think Gelson is necessarily good enough or that Big Phil has the sense to make it [most stupid handball of the season], but why discourage them? Clearly, they were the best available at the time and so there it is.

It's amazing, isn't it, how some people detest the very idea of happiness.
