We were not ‘lucky’ with champions league win. [Analysis] — it’s not what it seemed.

I saw the gem of tactical break down of what happened. I thought we edged it with Pep making changes but an analyst who watch game live thought we played Underpar but rewatched the game and saw something else entirely! We dominated in battles over pitch. I knew it was worthy win but hearing neutral break it down in short video was great.

Worth a watch!

Watched the first minute and know it is wrong. We did play with a double pivot. Pep confirmed it in his presser. But unfortunately, we kept trying to get the ball to Rodri who was double pressed by Dzeko and a midfielder. Denying Rodri the ball was one of Inter's tactical plans. A smart one seeing as Rodri often is the spring board for lots of good things.

Unfortunately because of our nervousess we kept missing Stones who was the open pivot on the right... I'm not just saying this, Pep confirmed it.

Yes, he is right that there was a tweak, Kevin coming to the inside left ( a position we often find Gundogan in)rather than the inside right, and Gundogan played closer to a 10.

Other than that, good analysis. Oh and yes we were lucky, obviously so we're they.. Pep said that too.

As I stated in other threads my own post match watch of the whole game yesterday showed me City "were" the better side. OK we got the fortune that deserted us in the ties and final of previous years. But one only has to look at the previous finals when the winners have been fortunate to hold out 1-0 (Real, Bayern, Chelsea). Even Liverpool had luck (penalty) against Spurs in that final and Real got all the breaks when they beat Liverpool in Kiev.

Finals are rarely dominated by one team no matter how much better that team are on paper.
