We won't make fourth

In the last two away games , we've basically only really played any football in the second half of each game ...... and that's not good enough.

Whilst teams like Aston Villa and Tottenham continue to pick up points ..... both won at Wigan by the way , we didn't ....... we need to keep pace , and yet again we throw points away at Sunderland ..... a place Villa also won at , if i'm not mistaken!

So unless we prove that we really 'want it' , starting at Craven Cottage this weekend , we're gonna continue to struggle .....

Villa lost at Blackburn. We didn't. Spurs lost to Wolves home and away. We didn't. Villa drew with WHU at home. We didn't. You can argue this shit back and forth but basically we have all ended up in roughly the same place. Interestingly enough our form has been much better than Villa's since Mancini took over which surprised me.

I'd rather see us blow it being positive then being cautious.
So given the choice you wouldn't want us to get 4th spot if we carry on playing "cautious"?

Bollocks, we were cautious first half against Sunderland and only started playing proper football in the 2nd half. If we continue to give 45 minutes away each game then we can forget about 4th spot. If we blow 4th spot id rather we did it being positive then looking back at the end of the season thinking what could of been.

I discussed the run ins of us and Spurs today, with a colleague who is a Spurs fan. We both did the BBC Predictor thing, as objectively as we could. We predicted 10 points for them and 12 for us from the remaining fixtures. However, that was without the, as yet to be rearranged, fixture between us both. It will come down to that match, I reckon. Could be our most important game in a long, long time.

fully agree...mancini must throw out his over cautious approach and send out a team to win at fulham...if he continues to play 3 defensive midfielders then we can forget 4th (and even 5th and 6th).....i aid before the sunderland game that we would be able to tell a lot about mancini's attitude and whether he can adapt his tactics.....it was shown that at the moment he is still unwilling to dso so and again his negative approach nearly cost us the game.....

people on here wil blame the players but there is no way those players want to play in the way mancini is sending them out to.....its just so negative

surely the penny has dropped by now with mancini regarding how to play, this constant over cautious approach will cost us forth spot, and come the end of season we'll all be saying what if.......

Did you do a predictor for villa? If you did you would struggle to see where they would drop points.

i hope on sunday we come flying out of the blocks at fulham, and get a win which is what we really need as dont both spurs and villa play sat and if they win which both will imo its catch up again for us...

they have 2 games where you think they might drop points...chelski away and maybe the midlands derby (vs Birmingham) at villa park...the rest of their games you would expect them to win.....That is why we must beat them when they conme to us.......will mancini go for it i wonder????

Spurs fan here.

If we dont make it I hope you lot do. Obviously we dont want the bin dippers to get in and for me Villa are just plain boring. I actually really hope Villa dont get it, the brand of football is just painful to watch and out of the contenders (City, Spurs and Villa) they play the most unattractive football. What is it in their last 8 games unbeaten?...4 0-0s.

As absurd as it might sound our run in, which everybody is going on about, is not as bad as it sounds really - for the simple fact that the top teams are dropping more points than ever before. Also many are quick to point out are poor record against them this season, when we played Chelsea and Arsenal away and HR lost the plot with team selection...well we totally shot ourselves in the foot. It will be a different story when they come to the Lane and HR is now picking sides with balance and has learnt a lot from the early stages of the season. We beat a stronger Chelsea side at the Lane last season and drew with the Scum when we should of beaten them. We will bottle it against Man U, so not expecting anything there but Chelsea and Arsenal at home should yield some points.

Our injury situation has been dire, Modric was missing for half the season and as soon as we get him back Lennon is a long term casualty. Had those two stayed fit for the most of the season, well one can only imagine. Pav and Bale, both fresh, have came in and to be honest its these two players who could make the difference. On another note is it just me or have Villa been really lucky with injuries this season?

Even though I didn't want to see City pick up points, for obvious reasons, I absolutely loved the spanking you gave Chelsea even though the first half was terrible. Some nice footie on show there as well, not this grinding out stuff Villa do, and Liverpool recently - Pompey doesn't count!

After Liverpool, City will be the next best side to cope in next years CL - not that should be a factor worth considering at this point - but its realistic. With your squad being shaped over the Summer and obviously under the direction and guidance of a very experieced manager who has been there before.

It will go right to the wire and it may come down to our fixture which would bring some extraordinary pressure for both our Clubs. I think Villa will suffer from some fatigue, through playing a settled side regularly and their upcoming schedule - and to be honest I hope they do. I could actually see Wolves holding them this Saturday.

Anyway all the best and good luck - until you meet us that is!
