When do Sky change all the fixtures?
Whenever they feel like it.

Some might say they already have changed it, because that's about as random as 1 2 3 4 5 6.

in the first half of the season there is one game of top 7 head to head each week. only four weeks have 2 games.

So they might be right

Again we play 5/6 of the top 7 at home first, it would have been nice to get a few aways in there - ideally we need to make it count this time and be top going into January (providing we can get the away form going a bit quicker this time).

Ridiculously hard start. Does anyone really believe that these fixtures 'randomly' come out of the fixture computer? It's all about momentum and there's a good chance that after the first five games we are already chasing. Corresponding fixtures last season got us 10 points out of 15. However, Chelsea are already a stronger, arsenal will be and so will Liverpool. Hope is that they won't have completed all their signings before transfer deadline. If we can come away with something similar then whilst we would be behind that would set us up nicely.

Conversely, we slip up in those big games and the boo boys will be out in force, throwing their toys out of the pram and looking for blood. Whilst it wouldn't end up in an OT scenario my fear is that we will be off the pace for the rest of the season whilst our rivals build on a strong start.

If we had the rags fixtures we would be looking at 24 out of 24 in the first 8 games, meaning the rags could be full of confidence going into the games against Chelsea and us.
I feel the complete opposite. We made a right mess of our 'easy' opening fixtures last season because we weren't switched on right from the start. These fixtures mean the players know they will have to hit the ground running and I'm always confident of City in the 'big' games. Get off to a good start and it will be us opening up a gap on our rivals later on in the season once everything starts evening out a bit. January's a tough one, but we couldn't have asked for kinder final 3 months of the season. I'd much rather get as many games against our title rivals out of the way as early as possible than have to face them at crucial times in the season once they're all up to speed. January aside, this is a great fixture list.

Totally agree with you Dubai Blue.

Obviously our away form against sides in the bottom half of the table was our Achilles heel last season. Fix that and we should be able to retain our title next year.

We were 8th after 11 games last season and won the title. Early-season results don't really mean that much until you actually win the thing. The fixtures weren't designed to work against Manchester City Football Club. Had we been given an easy start but a difficult run-in like United have been then you'd probably be blaming the FA for that as well, saying that they're trying to stop us winning the title by making us drop points at the end of the season, such is the nature of your post.

We started last season with Newcastle (H), Cardiff (A), Hull (H), Stoke (A), United (H), Aston Villa (A) which looks considerably more comfortable than this year's games, yet we only managed to get 10 points. It's not about the order of the fixtures or who we play on what day, it's about turning up on that day. If we'd started last season with Newcastle (H), Everton (A), Liverpool (H), Tottenham (A), United (H) you'd be accusing "them" of trying to ruin our "early season momentum". We won all 5 of those games last season because we turned up when it mattered: on the day.

I'm relishing this start. We can win all of those games.

I see our annual 1-0 defeat at Sunderland is being played on a Wed night in December. Someone must have decided that return journey needs to be made even more miserable
