Weight loss jabs

Losing weight is 90% diet and getting in to a calorie deficit. Exercise helps a lot.

I'm no spring chicken anymore and it took me 8 weeks to lose 10 lb (used to take about 5 weeks) over the last two months after completing rehab as a result of a car accident. And I'm far more optimistic about keeping that weight off as I've lost it gradually and made the right changes to diet and lifestyle. Whereas I think that if you're relying on injections to lose weight simply because its easy, then you're a lazy **** physically and mentally and it'll never work out in the long run.

To be fair, as much as laziness and a lack of accountability is the real cause for a lot of fat people - the NHS handing out jabs like Ozempic might cost them £100 a month in the short term (per person) but it will likely save them fucking millions down the line if the number of people suffering with heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and renal failure can be reduced.

Unfortunately it won't though. I'd say a good 95% of people will use these as a quick fix then just pile the weight back on. It's not a diet or a jab an overweight person needs, it's a complete lifestyle change.

The only people I've seen go from obese to fit and stay there are the ones who changed their thinking, exercise routine and habits.

Its going to cost a fortune in the short term and long term all because an adult can't be responsible for their health and well being. Same with teeth. Just fucking brush them.

Sorry if I've come across as a twat to some. But it's a harsh truth somebody who is overweight doesn't want to hear.

But we've known for years what you should and shouldn't eat, there isnt really a stitch up. Oily fish rich in omega 3 (not covered in batter), fresh veg, salad, fresh fruit, white meat, pulses and wholegrains, all washed down with plenty of water.

Its not rocket science.

Unfortunately for some it is. It boils down to less eating, more moving.

Everybody knows what they should be eating. They just can't be arsed and go for the quick fix, just like the jab is a quick fix. Fat again in 12 months with possible side effects to add on to the clogged arteries.

Want to lose weight? Calories deficit, exercise and plenty of water. I know grown adults who don't even drink a glass of water a day. It fucking baffles me why anybody would want to grow old absolutely fucked

Might make you lose weight, wont clear your clogged arteries after eating shite for years.

Think some (not all) people see it as they can get the injections and eat just like normal, stuffing their face with fat laden rubbish.
Not just that, but we now have a pharmaceutical excuse not to do anything about the major systemic reasons for obesity in the first place, like regulating the amount of ultra-processed shit on supermarket shelves rather than real food. Or demanding that cities are built so that people can actually walk and exercise, rather than having to go everywhere by car (okay, that one's more of an American issue, but it's still relevant everywhere).

Been going to the gym regularly for the past 9 months and finally getting into decent shape. As a result I've been much more conscious about what I'm eating and it's staggering how much shit is in things pretending to be good for you. Been trying to boost protein intake, and you get so many "high protein" energy bars, drinks etc which are actually quite low in protein and high in sugar. All that does is makes you crave sugar more, so when you stop exercising you pile on weight by eating the wrong things.
As someone once said, you never see any health claims written on a tomato or a cabbage. A label telling you how healthy something is is your first clue that it isn't.

Honestly mate it's an absolute game changer. Semaglitude is cheaper and will most probably be perfect for you mate.

www.pharmacy2u.co.uk I order off these mate :-)

Good luck.
I mean......sure, I guess. You're really putting something with that name into your body?

If someone starts on these jabs do they have to take them for life ?
Just wondered if someone stops taking it after they've hit their ideal weight, do they put it all back on again ?

They'll soon be hungry and have no idea how to maintain the weight. Back on in 3 months.

Unfortunately most diets don’t work out in the long run. It’s why weight watchers and slimming world have been so successful. It’s the same people joining and rejoining.

I think most people who are overweight just like eating/drinking too much. I include myself in that. It’s almost built into their DNA.

The drugs stop the urge to eat but I believe that as soon as you stop them then the hunger pangs return and the weight can go back on. My cousin has lost 4 stone on this treatment so it does work. I might give it a go myself as my love of crisps is getting out of control!

100% mate, my point is that when there's so much shite out there and so many people wanting a quick fix, it's no surprise these weight loss jabs have exploded in popularity and are now on the NHS to those eligible.
