Welcome Abdukodir Khusanov

The positives for him today were.

1. He realised what a great team we have and how other players (Bernado in particular) will come to your aid when you are floundering.

2. He saw a manager that could and probably should have subbed him at half time, leave him on for 5 minutes of the second half.

3. Because of the above he saw the whole stadium get on their feet for him despite how poor he had been and got a very visible hug from Pep.

4. He then sat on the bench and saw how a team of winners respond to a setback.

He will have learnt an awful lot today and none of it will be around what he did on the pitch.

Excellent captaincy from Bernado, excellent management from Pep and excellent support from the fans.

Disaster 5 minutes but then he seemed fine after that. It was nice to see some of the senior players (Bernardo) take responsibility and help the kid out. Less said about Akanji.

Let him have a couple weeks training, learn some English and a few games alongside Dias/Ake etc he’ll be fine.

Didn't help nunes at right back who I thought had decent game with no help from midfield the lad will be ok after few training sessions and English lessons

Whilst he should have done better, we had a throw in which Nunes had very little to aim at with so chucked it to Chelsea and it then put us under pressure. It's happened a few times and someone needs to tell Nunes to just wait and play it safe rather than toss it to the opposition!

Lack of communication the issue. Didn't clear it initially and then didn't make enough contact to play it back to Ederson and was then a bit rattled.

Players got around him, fans were superb and his ovation when he came off should help him recover. Didn't cost us in the end and almost galvanized us if anything. We suddenly started showing a lot more fight.

He grew into the game as well. Hope he doesn't dwell on it too much. Could be here for over a decade and look back at that and laugh one day.

Nice post well put .
Best thing of all tonight was to see the togetherness of the team and the coaching staff . Absolutely brilliant and the young lad even though starting with a howler will feel 10ft tall tonight and bursting with pride and confidence.

The error aside, Khusanov had a good game. He kept his head up after the mistake, his passing was decent and he can put in a challenge. Khusanov was thrown in the deep end starting against Chelsea. He looks solid

made up we won of course especially for him, did not cost us the game!! He actually showed a decent turn of pace and a couple of good tackles

What a first minute that was - absolute nightmare for the lad. Then, bit by bit he managed to grow into the game and we blues will now hope that this will be the making of him. You learn from your mistakes.

Welcome to the big time young man; make it your stage. It cannot get worse than that first minute, so, onwards and upwards.

Really felt the lad, after an awful start he got into the game and II think in time he will prove to be a good signing.

Massive fuck up for the goal. Got past it as well as you could hope for.

The funny side of it is the Uzbek fans on Instagram now desperately trying to defend the mistake. Had someone claim it was a "minor" mistake. It's football, these things happen from time to time.
I hope these Uzbek fans aren't going to be as bad as the Algerian lot were when we had Mahrez.

I remember receiving death threats on twitter from Algerian fans for suggesting mahrez shouldn't be our penalty taker!

Dreadful opening few minutes for the lad.. but he composed himself with the support of his teammates and then showed his quality and ability when on the ball and when covering opposition attacks.

He'll be fine and be a beast of a defender.
stick him at left back next week see what hes made off
