I think he didn't want to upset the Argie fans. He is supposed to be in Paris with Argentina. Obviously, he got a permission from the manager, but maybe it would upset the Argie fans. Maybe they would see it as a distraction from the upcoming Olympics. I know there is Copa final still, but a lot of the player playing in the Olympics are not playing in Copa America. Not sure, though.
