Does anyone with half a brain or ten bobs worth of common sense really believe this release clause shite, it’s just another bullshit concoction by twitter clowns which then drips into the shithouse sports media, release clauses are not Citys policy, it’s just another ruse to make the drooling masses feel better and try and take some comfort, stop giving these fuckin idiots credibilty

For me it’s the same for any player. Do they want to play for City? If not, they shouldn’t be joining in the first place. I am sure that Erling wants to come to City because he knows that we are one of, or possibly, the best club in the World. He knows that he can win trophies and once he has settled in, I am sure he will want to stay long term. If Pep stays, I am sure he will want to stay as part of a seriously exciting process. Take no notice of all the doubters waiting for him to leave.

If the City board have really accepted a clause like this I would be very disappointed.

I mean, City is not a stepping stone, it is one of the biggest and richest clubs in the world, and the fact that a player has a clause to leave in the second year of his contract does not really reflect any commitment to the project, to the club, to the fans or to the city.

The media and opposition fans planning someone’s exit from City before they even arrive has coincided with every major step up this club has made.

It happened with Aguero

It happened with Pep.

It’s happening with Haaland.

The real question is just how far can we step up from here? I’ve heard a lot of people bending over backwards to justify why it’s not as simple as plugging possibly the best finisher in football into the side that creates 4 chances for every goal but none of them have convinced me.

Is 100 points going to be the new standard? 138 goals is the record in a top flight season. Invincibles? Quadruple?

No one actually knows where the ceiling on this is, that’s partly why they’re so desperate to convince themselves it won’t work, and if it does it’s only 2 years, and if it’s not then Pep will leave in 2025.
Remember the questions from the idiots, when Bobby was assembling the squad that broke the trophy drought and won the League.

Can he keep all those egos happy?
It’s all very well spending a lot of money on big stars, but can he mould them into a team to challenge ?
Will they want to stay?
Etc, etc, ad nauseum.

It didn’t work out too badly, did it?
