An absolute steal at £14m. Tkixi strikes again.

it will be ? but at the moment its just a gamble that you would be daft not to take at £14million. its a steel and you do wonder why when the lad is flying. maybe a big sell-on fee is in place if city ever sell or clauses set in targets and titles and champions league

I read somewhere that City have adopted a new strategy for some targets, that is a low initial fee with generous performance/profit/ sell on clauses. Seem a good idea if s.American clubs resent European clubs getting too much bunce.
Certainly RP were keen to sell to us.
PS I see Tim Vickery and his mate who are putting together their best youngsters team have picked Alvarez first.

yep a good write up on the bbc by tim Vickery

I swear this is the third or fourth time he's brought up Vardy, think we might have bought him if he was younger when Pep arrived.
Yeah, he clearly rates Vardy highly. Not surprised really, as he often causes our high line problems.

Very unlikely. Alvarez has a release clause of around £17m, we've paid less than that because River get to keep him longer.

Just listened to the "Wunderkids" podcast on BBC sounds - link below - in which Tim Vickery gives Alvarez a glowing reference.

If he lives up to the hype then we will have got ourselves a bargain. It is great that he has stayed in his native country and established himself in a team at a good standard and made the senior international squad.

I do wonder whether bringing the likes of Kayky over at such a young age is the best thing for their development. Every case is unique I guess.

HT - NOB 0 - 0 River ... JA has had one solid chance and he made poor contact on a bang-bang stab off a cut-back pass. Horrible action, NOB is like 10 McTominays out there. Rare to see passes strung together. JA has run his azz off tho, pressing like a wild man. Shrug, maybe the McTominays will tire and River can start to find a rhythm.

Final - NOB 0 - 2 River ... tldr: NOB's keeper made 2 errors and goals happened. The first was a direct result of JA's insane pressing forcing a poor clearance. The Argie TV people even put together a montage of JA's match-long harrassment of the keeper that eventually led to the breakthru goal. No goals for Julian, but our boy werked 'ard and won. yay

Tough, rugged game. N'ewells played at the edge of the rulebook. Julian played well but was uncharacteristically poor in the couple of chances he had. He still contributed to the breaktrhough goal with his restless pressing.
