I didn't want any of those teams to be promoted yesterday. Coventry for the fact they are supported by that City hating prat Richard Keys, and Luton for obvious reasons.

My ideal scenario was that it went to the penalty shoot out, but that nobody missed, and they spent all summer taking relentless shots at knackered keepers, until the Premier League said "feck it, stay where you are" and only relegated Southampton and one other!

I think that was the relegation that most shocked me, possibly (well, the drop into D3 seemed impossible, too). I hadn't fully taken on board the problems of the club, and only a few years before we'd been a major force in English football. We'd been at Wembley in ’81, we were still able to attract good managers.
