Welcome to City Maximo Perrone

The complaints about CFG signings get on my tits: the success of the wider group has turned us into the most successful, self-sustaining business, capable of attracting huge investment and, therefore, being able to attract the best players and coaching staff. Now, Perrone was, allegedly, personally recommended to Pep by Javier Mascherano, coach of Argentina U20, who personally witnesses the very best young players in that nation. It's bloody exciting news, and we, once again, are in there before anyone else has even a whiff.
Very true mate but also a little sad when fans actually call Manchester City a business, it's no wonder so many City fans become disenfranchised, somewhere in all of this we lost our soul maybe it's just age for some of us or maybe it's because we are priced out.
I can help thinking that the over officious stewarding the poor ticket pricing and the process of actually buying tickets puts fans off too.
I also believe that most of what you have listed is why we have an "Etihad atmosphere thread" yes they are and always have been a business but it's so in your face now, over the years my belief is the club has moved further and further away from the local support base.
Personally I get much more pleasure when we get the local lads through the ranks; Foden, Lewis, Palmer. high hopes for a few others. CFG signing I honestly could care less mate. I also don't like this Man City stuff either, Manchester City.

I think any fan of a certain age prefers local talent - I'm 54, and definitely love the local lads coming through. Being a successful business could, in the longer term, give further opportunity to reduce ticket prices (I hope) as the attendance becomes a less significant part of our revenue. I don't feel the loss of our soul, personally, but it is true that without being a successful business, we could not compete in the upper echelon of the game.

Fair enough mate, I don't for one minute believe being a successful business will lower ticket prices, but lets hope.

I’d settle for him being as good as Mascherano…

With the form of Philips,he has a great chance.

I watched one of the argentina matches. I will be surprised if perrone is anything like philips or masche. he was incredibly week defensively like piss poor. he plays nothing like them. he is good in tight spaces playing creative forward passes like david silva. he will never be a no.6 in a pep system.

He looks more of a creative player to me.

My, my, my, my Perone

Ooh you little skilful one,
when you gonna give me a goal, Perone?
Ooh, you Argentinian, beat a man,
Lay it on a plate for our Erling Haaland,

Never gonna give it up, keep a hold of that ball, Perone.
Passing through the lines you can,
skip down that wing Perone,
My, my, my, my, my, wooh!
