Welcome to the new forum

although the blue icon to the left of the thread title also indicates new posts too?
So it does. Ignore me then, I am stupid.

EDIT: Actually, the blue dot isn't there on the forum index, which is where I meant. @Ric

I appreciate that some users don't like change, and that the new look isn't to everyone's tastes.

I should stress though that it isn't just change for the sake of it; overwhelmingly the biggest criticism we receive is that the site goes down during busy periods, which everyone finds frustrating.

That was because of the old forum software, which was no longer fit for purpose. The subsilver2 style that some miss was tied into that - if there was a subsilver2 style for the new forum I'd install it as an option.

Nothing is set in stone with regards the new design though, so any constructive criticism on how we can change things for the better, either in terms of design or functionality, are welcomed. Just saying "I don't like it" is less helpful though - please be specific with any criticism!

As a bona fide member of the old fogeys club this takes a little getting used to. I like the reply option. That is very user friendly. I am still trying to work out how you get notified if you receive a pm?

Also the colour scheme is washed out? Any reason for the pale colour choice?

As someone else said, is the font size the same as the previous version, or is it my failing eyesight?

I see The Cellar has been renamed. The former Cellarites may object to that!

Overall kudos to Ric, Damo and the team. Once we all get used to it, I am sure that it will be a vast improvement.

Maybe you need to publish a User Guide!

I think that comes up on the 'Alerts' link at the top right corner.

I've just discovered that if you highlight part of someone's post you can then hover over it and and 'quote' or 'reply' just to that part. That's cool.

Besides using ctrl+ is there any way to change the default font size?

Unfortunately, there's no option in your user preferences to change font size on a user by user basis. The default size for posts is 14px though, which is the same as previously.

I like it Ric, it does take a little getting used to for an old person like me but, as I'm using my iPad, because I'm on holiday, it will probably make more sense to me when I get home to my laptop & normal keyboard. Thank you

Initially the new format is strange but frankly I found the old BM one strange so its a case of relearning which is surely not a bad thing ?

It certainly works faster (especially posting).
Like others I find the hover to copy and paste feature intuitive. Still discovering features but please consider (if possible) showing post number range when hovering over individual page numbers on each thread.
