Well done 1894 group.

Comments from the palace fan a little harsh. Welcome to 2013, city square and surroundings makes etihad the best in the country as far as making fans welcome is concerned.

I don't see any PL away fans singing or being as lively as our support away from home and that isn't from tinted blue glasses.

Things have come along well in the last 4 months with 1894, some great support from fans., this is what will make things improve. Some great new ideas with the apps and following progress on twitter. Got to move with the times and try different ways of improving atmosphere.

I agree with many on here that our own block and start with just 300 or 400 fans who want to sing would help us create more noise. Hard to get people to move out in order for singers to move in though. Hopefully a stadium re shuffle when the extension is completed will give us a chance. I'd love it to happen now though !

The concourse singing has been good, get in early in the SS and kippax blocks to make it lively, Liverpool game was
awesome.

It'd be good if the bulb could release the seating plans stating where season tickets occupy . You could then see if there is a block with minimal season ticket folders and then try and occupy a few hundred seats there to fans that put their names down for it through the 1894 group etc.Something like the block in the 3rd tier at the ends would be good as they're small blocks and still close to singers and south stand . Prob already full of season tickets holders though .

I agree about our away fans . Best in prem by far . You only have to look at the Liverpool and palace away following at ours to see how good we are .

The problem with that was that loads of none-singers went in there, it's 60% just people who want to stand up who actually make no more noise than loads of people sat down around the rest of the ground.

Yes but the same thing would surely happen again as any singing section would have to allow standing.
It's a difficult one isn't it, it would probably always happen like that wherever it was situated.

We're not the best by far. I doubt we're even the best. I wouldn't compare sets of fans with how loud they are at our place compared to how loud we are everywhere. That could have been Liverpool or Palace's quietest following of the season. Just like we were silent at Stoke and quiet at Villa, would you say it's fair of Stokies or Villains to judge our support off those games?

To be honest, there's very little between any sets of fans in the Prem. Most are poor at home unless they're new to the league, sometimes everyone is excellent at home. Most are much better away from home and almost everyone takes a following to a fair few places over the season that are fantastic.

Every set of fans thinks their fans are the best, especially away from home.

Remember, if City drop to the tempo of a team that parks the bus, it does drop the atmosphere a bit.
A lad near me was too busy on phone reading out every goal update on his phone. Technology takes as much as it gives.

Have you thought about having a word with the club and seeing if a block somewhere in the ground can be freed up?. One with minimal season ticket holders so people aren't bein kicked out of their seats . A petition could then be made asking who would be willin to be relocated into this area to create a new singin section. If you got good numbers, all that were willin to sing could move there and sing together which would then spread throughout the ground . There is 36,000 season ticket holders . Surely there is a block with low amounts if season ticket holders that could be taken ? .

The 'singers' corner and south stand would be ideal but it's full of season ticket holders and sadly too many that don't want to sing .

That is exactly what they did in 110/111

Well what the fook happened then !. Maybe it could be done a little better now the 1894 group are around ?. They could really help promote it through things like twitter, Facebook and their own site . I can only assume people thought 'fook it, ill just sit in 111 anyway'. If it was through other sources maybe more like minded people would put their names down ?. You don't even need a full block. Maybe just a couple hundred seats bunched together . It's be interest in seeing how many would be willing to do it . If there was a couple of hundred, it would be an awesome startin point .

There's no easy way to do this. Might be close to impossible.

The only way I can imagine this being done is co-operation with the club and the 1894 group.. And, not that anybody actually listens to this, would be to:
A) (having to ask for) membership fee for those who want to be part of 1894group/singing section(/south stand?) which would come on top of the ST price
B) those currently in SS(or other designated "singing area") would be allowed to relocate from their seats for a reduced price
C) those unwilling to move from their current seats from SS (or other designated "singing area") would have to pay more than those in 1894 group who want to sit in the new singing section

Bollocks, it's new year and I'm loaded so I'll never read my post again as I reckon it doesn't make any sense anyway but the point is that with the amount of old season ticket holders it's gonna be difficult unless there's an incentive from the club and a major push from the 1894 group.

Nonetheless these things take time anyway.

If 1894 group keep up the good work and push for improvements, it will happen.
I know I'm a "silent member". Just browsing here and on another forums, on FB liking things, on twitter retweeting things, making tiny donations when I can and "always" singing.

#Together (why not?)

Well I've only had one drink and a,b,c look quite good. Needs the foot down with a firm hand !

How about if you choose to go in singing end but don't want to take part you have a great big FO flag in front of you !

Ok. 1894 are not an ultras group. Feel they have a limited tine span. We want to be still going in 10 years time.

we are a fans atmosphere group that is closely aligned with the official mcfc supporters club and therefore closely aligned with the club but independent of both bodies.

Our aims are to see an improvement in the atmosphere at home games including more noise across the ground and to ensure City's traditions and excellent history are not forgotten by a media which sometimes has a pop at the 'new' version of mcfc but also to ensure that new fans are integrated quickly and understand quickly what it means to be a blue

To ensure traditional old songs don't die out and to promote good new songs and ensure the atmosphere at away games transmits to home games

to offer a second opinion to the club if they wish to take it on any atmosphere related issue

to organise displays at home games and to have a visual presence during the game ie flags banners inflatables

to be a self funding group selling flags badges tshirts etc to generate funds

to tour the branches and engage with as many blues as possible

I'd say if it was possible, we/you (?) should try something at an away game, to really announce the group to the other clubs. Like the Holmsdale Ultras from Palace, as I think it's only us blues that know about the group.

Plus, it would be a great sight at an away game!

As a one off we were gonna take the surfers to blackburn but their security said no. We work well with the club certainly this season any money will be spent on home games. Thats the priority. Not too bothered whether someone at another club has heard of us or not yet. However next season we are doing stuff at the eds games so maybe we'll expand to away games and european games too. Depends on dough. We had a forum on here for a bit not enough people supported it so we just use twitter and facebook now.

The new youth stadium will provide a great chance for fans to get organised.

larger scale as ?

A large improvement in atmosphere or a big display at say Barcelona. It was probably a bad idea posting in retrospect, if you've got nothing nice to say etc.

About what?

The effect it's having and if it's going anywhere.
The effect it will have on the atmosphere will be limited until they join both standing areas. I've sat in the 3rd tier this year and so many times I've heard the fans in the corner getting a song going to then be drowned out by the south stand singing a different song.

Personally I've just liked seeing more colour in the ground with the surfer flags and small displays (payed for by fans rather than the club).

People can doubt whatever they like. Its a 10 year project we're 4 months into it.

noise dynamics change when ground get expanded you should see a difference then as long as people give us a chance and buy into what we are trying to achieve

in the meantime it's about getting 'our songbook' out to a wider number of fans so instead of just joining in with blue moon we're not really here nanananana City and best team in the land & all the world, the quieter sections of the ground are joining in with more and more of our songs

fans turned up v palace and couldn't be arsed singing we say sing every game, every game is important every game counts
