priority should always be the domestic title, Champions league success a bonus. At the end of the day UCL after first league format is a knockout tournament, and you need a degree of luck to win it.
There's an interesting take on how Pellegrini has seen his 3 years at the club and he has some impressive stats to back up his assertions that his time has been successful and he has moved the club forward which underpins his surprised why most of the fans left after the final whistle and left him to address and empty stadium.

However the author of the article showed a different side to the stats which is something I doubt Pellegrini had ever considered let alone the fans in his mind. It's an interesting read.......

The drop in points each season shows the decline and that can't be denied. What also can't be denied though is the sheer quality of attacking football in his first season which at times was the best ever from a city side! He has won 3 trophies and been totally respectful to the club and stood firm on his beliefs even if selections were poor tactically at times. Hopefully he gets a good win today and leaves on a good note with us in 3rd or 4th

There were far worse than Allison, but Mal was never a manager, just one of the greatest coaches the world of football has ever seen.

Phil Neal, Allan Ball, John Benson...I am going to stop, my blood pressure is on the rise

There's certainly plenty to choose from but it was Allison who put us in the position of having to hire crap managers to deal with the crap situation he and Swales created. But yea, great coach.

As the saying goes, there are lies, damn lies and statistics. Stats can be made to mean anything. The only stat that counts is that we are struggling to scrape enough points together to get a playoff place for the CL.

Why did he neglect our need for a win vs Southampton for a game three days later that we didn't turn up for and apparently had no intention of turning up for.

A very good question with no good answer. Said at the time the Soton team pick was totally wrong. In both those games the players let us all down badly.

No intention of turning up for? What does that mean?

You can't have watched that game and come away with the impression that the bulk of that team went out there with any intention of competing. It was as unprofessional a performance as we've seen for some time.

It means not trying to get a goal even when only one was needed and having virtually no shots on target over the course of 180 minutes. It means going into a game with the idea that it couldn't be won.
