City have never played Bournemouth away in Spring or Autumn away .
Last time we played Bournemouth away was in February .
I remember Leeds playing away at Bournemouth away on a bank holiday in 1990
The mob at Leeds had a riot with the police on the beach .
We played crystal palace away the same day it was my first away day without adult supervision. arriving at Euston station it was mayhem with City, Leeds, Millwall and a few others all crossing paths. My mate having been drinking decided to he was going to take everybody on and had to drag him down the esculator avoiding punches from a mob that was chasing us.

Was that the last game of the season, the year Palace lost to scum in the FA Cup final?

Some City supporters were allowed to carry a 'Good Luck Palace' around the pitch and the local police chief wrote to the Evening News commending those present on their behaviour.

A few images of the victory parade. Apparently about 60 000 lined the route from Boscombe pier to Bournemouth pier.

That reminds me of the rags' victory parade.

Well, nearly. There were more present in Bournemouth today than there were in Trafford on that not-so great evening.

The next time the rags win the league, their fans will crawl out of their rat holes in droves to attend.

by the time they win it again you could fit the "fans" on the bus.

Right I can predict exactly what will happen

They will hit the ground running, they will beat a top 4 team, their forums will be full of "So proud" threads and maybe talk about finishing mid table or even higher

They will then proceed to get beat by teams around them in the league, by Christmas some of their fans will be saying that they hate the Prem and all the money etc, and they preferred it in the Championship (which is a good job really)

By March they will be relegated after pocketing a good few million

It's so predictable, and even if they do survive the first season they won't the survive the second season

But the second season will give them a huge amount of cash to buy their way back.
In general I agree. A good start, a couple of surprise results and steady decline. As Burnley did a few seasons ago and are doing again this season.

So true and it makes it all the more depressing. There didn't use to be that much of a gap between the leagues, these days it's huge. Then there's another huge gap to reach the clubs who have the benefit of Champs league money.

I remember the days before football was invented, when Watford, managed by Graham Taylor, won promotion to the First Division and the next season, they finished second.

That will never happen again.
