I always thought Bernstien was the voice of prudence and steady leadership. His only error I felt was publically saying that Joe Royle had a job for life after our back to back promotions!
He split due to being outmanouvered I think by John Wardle - hot on the heels of Bernstien wanting to "pay as you play" for Robbie Fowler, and Keegan wanting to spend 5 million on him. Who was right on that one Kevin, you bouffanted fucking exitable puppy?

His family are and were Spurs fans, David is and always will be a blue.
He managed to bring the right people in at a time when we needed stabilising and in doing so stopped us from going down a very bad road.
He'll get nothing but thanks and a handshake if I ever meet him.
