Was in the upper tier, level with the 18 yard line, tunnel to the right so had a decent view of Super and Dickys goals. I felt sick at 2 down with 90 gone and almost in tears when the City fans started a rendition of 'We love you City', it was emotional and I wanted to join in but the words would not come out..... I tried to leave as I just couldn't take any more torture. We couldn't get anything going, bad cross, mis-placed pass, ball going out of play etc. Dismal grey day too. Luckily there were some big guys who looked at me in disgust as I walked towards them...mmmm… best get back to my seat I think. Thanks lads. The rest of course is history, the last 5 minutes the best ever until a certain game in 2012. Dicky equalised, I was on another planet jumping around with my mates of course and then me and another blue who didn't know each other just hugged for what seemed like an eternity, mumbling random stuff like 'we've done it' with the odd swear word thrown in for good measure. Sincerely hope that blue has enjoyed our subsequent successes like the rest of us. Thought we'd win 4-2 AET but then had to endure more torture with the pens and then the magic and elation of Nicky running round celebrating like a madman!! Didn't even mind singing 'Rockin all over the World' at the top of my voice.....well, what was left of it anyway!!! Saw Jamie Pollock coming out of one of the Wembley gates after with a mutual thumbs-up and chuckled listening to a blue on his mobile telling his rag mate where he could stick his treble. Met up with other mates afterwards and went to a pub, can't remember where or how we got there but it was rammed with celebrating Blues and several coaches drove past as were having a pint or 3. One regret was that we saw the City team coach parked on a side street, Cup at the front with Sir Joe and the players and I just wished we'd have strolled down rather than 'bottling' it !! Unbelievable day and season and thankfully we can look back on it now with affection and pride at being 'there'
