Wembley 99 Play Off final - 25th Anniversary

Was in the upper tier, level with the 18 yard line, tunnel to the right so had a decent view of Super and Dickys goals. I felt sick at 2 down with 90 gone and almost in tears when the City fans started a rendition of 'We love you City', it was emotional and I wanted to join in but the words would not come out..... I tried to leave as I just couldn't take any more torture. We couldn't get anything going, bad cross, mis-placed pass, ball going out of play etc. Dismal grey day too. Luckily there were some big guys who looked at me in disgust as I walked towards them...mmmm… best get back to my seat I think. Thanks lads. The rest of course is history, the last 5 minutes the best ever until a certain game in 2012. Dicky equalised, I was on another planet jumping around with my mates of course and then me and another blue who didn't know each other just hugged for what seemed like an eternity, mumbling random stuff like 'we've done it' with the odd swear word thrown in for good measure. Sincerely hope that blue has enjoyed our subsequent successes like the rest of us. Thought we'd win 4-2 AET but then had to endure more torture with the pens and then the magic and elation of Nicky running round celebrating like a madman!! Didn't even mind singing 'Rockin all over the World' at the top of my voice.....well, what was left of it anyway!!! Saw Jamie Pollock coming out of one of the Wembley gates after with a mutual thumbs-up and chuckled listening to a blue on his mobile telling his rag mate where he could stick his treble. Met up with other mates afterwards and went to a pub, can't remember where or how we got there but it was rammed with celebrating Blues and several coaches drove past as were having a pint or 3. One regret was that we saw the City team coach parked on a side street, Cup at the front with Sir Joe and the players and I just wished we'd have strolled down rather than 'bottling' it !! Unbelievable day and season and thankfully we can look back on it now with affection and pride at being 'there'

I was in Vegas on my cousin’s stag do weekend.
Surreal weekend. Very surreal.

I walked out of the hotel/casino 2nd floor onto the pool veranda, settled into the water and swam over to the bar where various odds and sods were continuing from the night before... got told the result... and promptly bought a round for whomever was around at X O’clock in the morning in the baking heat.

There was also a Watford fan, and I think they won their playoff next day?

Sorry if already posted but did anyone see the SLY docu on that 98/99 season? I couldnt believe it when Goater said the team had to warm up at a local school and mini bus it in cos they were booed if they warmed up on the pitch. What a load of shite, they were spineless until Morrison turned up thats why.

Then the commentator during the Villa v Derby play off quoted it as gospel.Who needs enemies with friends like that.

What a twat for saying that Goater, insult to decent Blues at that time.

I can remember the team warming up at a local school. I saw them going in on more than one occasion, though I don’t recall which one it was.

I am not really interested in the surrounding area. The view from your seat at Wembley is stunning. Sterile? I would not say that. I doubt there's better place in the world to watch football.

I agree. Best stadium I’ve been to and I’ve been to nearly all the big famous ones in Europe

Quite often we’d be walking to the ground from the Beehive and the mini bus would come flying round the corner about 10 to 3 with the players crammed in

Where were you?
Bottom tier Weaver headed towards us at the start of his run
What did you think at 2-0?
It was all over and the rags will be taking the piss non stop as it was just after their treble

Did you think it was too late at 2-1?
Yes same when Dzeko scored v QPR

How wild did you celebrate the Dickov equaliser? Madly fell about 6 seats forward

Did you think we’d win the shoot out?
Was worried like every shoot out but the Dickov goal made me think it was gonna be our day
Any photos you’d like to share?
No

The memories that video brings back, just like city our videos are bloody brilliant.

That documentary is absolutely fantastic! One of the best things City TV has ever done - if not the best.

Fantastic, what a club.

Stick your 99 treble up your arse.

Brings a lump to my throat and gives me goosebumps every bit as much as Aguero.

Shamed to admit that I was being a bit naughty and took a lady (not wife) down to Wembley on Saturday before the game on Sunday. Was great at the time but turned out she owned the farm to supply bunny if one gets what I mean. Lessons in life eh.

1 nil and the feeling was oh fuck
2 nil and the feeling was WTF blues.
2-1 I was on the concourse
2-2 I was outside walking back to car. Heard the roar and ran back inside with what seemed like thousands of blues.

Thought we would win it in extra time to be honest. When it came to pens I just had that feeling that we werent going to lose.

You can stick your fucking treble up your arse. Haha never forget that. Lost my voice that day and was working the next day. At the time I worked in Wigan. As you can imagine I got no sympathy there from my colleagues or our customers when I explained how I'd lost my voice.
