Do the Manchester to Watford route twice a week. Hit those road works between 0700-1000 and it can be a nightmare

What time would you recommend to set off from Bradford to get to the semi in comfortable time?
On a Saturday it should be easier....but not always the case I know. Give yourself a good four hours just in case....
Earlier you go the better anyway....best have time on your hands there than in Bratfud mate....(or anywhere rather than Bratfud, lol)

Leaving my house in Astley it takes me just under 3 hours to get to Watford. Granted that is leaving at 0330 ish on a Monday morning. I made the mistake once of leaving at 0600 and the road works were a nightmare. That is not saying it will happen every time but all it takes is one bump. Still a traffice jam should not stop the fun, Can still remember a traffic jam in 81 on the way to Villa park and standing on the M6 eating Ham Butties. Small things bring back memories!

Hey Mick, i see you live in Astley. Do you know of anyone with a Boat Morring that is free atm?
PS, hope ive got it right and the Canal goes through your village?

Try boothstown Marina, 1 mile further down the canal. Lots of mooring sites there.

I go down there mate and do a bit of mithering but very difficult to get on there, getting a mooring is the hardest part tbh, gonna probably be in a position to get a boat in the not so distant.

The first thing that strikes me is why bring the rags in from the west (M40) when that is our allocated end and why take us in from the eastern side (M1 and then in towards the eastern end)? This would mean that after the ground the fans will have to cross each other to get back to their transport. The whole idea is completely logical but only if done the other way around.
Good question mate. Was thinking the same. I'm booked to park on a drive on the west side and had planned to come in from the M40. Still intend going that way but would have preferred to be surrounded by Blues.
