We're still favourites - WHY?

After 12 games last season we were top by a point. After 38 games we were second by 11 points. So effectively we dropped 12 points to the rags in those remaining 26 games. If we have a run of winning games then we could easily get into, or very close to, top spot. Still a long way to go.

This is all true. But it's the sheer number of teams we need to overhaul that concerns me.
The pressure to win every game is full on. For example if we drop points tomorrow I just can't see how we look like finishing first

The end of the season will tell us that, not now.
Seriously mate..we have to win tomorrow. I am quite confident but worse case scenario happens..then what??all for an extra two games in the cl and a few million quid?

We have to win every game because the investment in the squad demands that but we wont and no team ever would do that.

The league is won and lost over 38 games and not 11 and it wont be until the end of May before I make a final judgement on Pellegrini. Ive said earlier that as a fan its all about the league for me but as a club, I realise its all about the CL and the difference in winning the league or finishing 2nd or 3rd is fuck all from a financial point of view and the result is the same....CL football the season after.

Bob failed consistently to get us performing in the CL and it paid for him in the end, as it has done previously in his career.

So far Pellegrini has taken us to the next step in the CL and come the end of May, could well have delivered another league title and possible domestic cup success as well so we should just wait and see what happens as he isn't going anywhere any time soon.

Its November yet far too many on here seemingly have written the season off and its ridiculous imo.

Utter shite, If Pello had the same groups as Mancini we'd be out, no question. Bayern beat us at their ground a couple of years ago but they absolutely spanked us at ours this year. There is not a cat in hells chance of us winning the CL. Pello hasn't brought anything to the team except a leaky defence. You also mention Mancini's lack of success in the CL, true but WTF has Pellegrini ever won? We have the best squad in the league led by a muppet with no CV. When the home form starts to go the same as away I'll let you start the Pello out campaign.

Not with 1 win out of 6 away games

Without passion and fight we will win nothing, Even with the best players. Unfortunately passion and fight are lacking, in lorry loads.

As is support and backbone by some of our so called supporters.
Lets give Pellegrini the season, if he can't cut it then so be it but let's not write him off this early. We've dominated most domestic games this season without success but that can hardly be the managers fault 100% can it?
I'm all for a good witch hunt, I even went to Goodison today so I could continue my vilification of Gareth boooooooooo Barry , but on this occasion I'm holding my water.

We will have the answer in the next 4 weeks IMO. The Xmas games period will make or break our chances of winning it. If I was to predict how it will end, I would say 3rd or 4th. I'm not too bothered provided we keep CL for next season.

Who's blaming Pellegrini? We displayed the same lack of these qualities way before he came on the scene.
