Was at most of them , which according to this thread makes me a gloryhunter with a big penis. The fact you would have to attend the majority of games during the season to get the neccessary programme vouchers (remember them) or loyalty points , to get a ticket for some of these matches , is lost on some posters.

Yup. For '99, you had to queue up all night at Maine Road and still turn up at the counter with the vouchers.

Or queue up for 6 hours only for the buggers to sell tickets from Piccadilly box office (and hardly anyone had mobiles then!) - still managed to get a ticket through a friend of my dads mates wifes grandad!

I managed to get 2 lots of 2 tickets (separate stands) by constantly redialing the ticket office for hours IIRC.

And I didn't leave when Bob Taylor scored like most of the muppets on our row.

What about Milwall away(was actually at home) sat in the Kippax watching a giant screen in the middle of the pitch, SWP scored his first goal for City, I was on a first or maybe second date with my now wife, the rest as they say is history. Happy happy days. Macclesfield away will always be a highlight, we went corporate which was a tent in a field over the road from the ground.

Can any of you describe the "Iconic" York away moment?. This is for younger fans .

It appears that a record crowd of City support attended that game. Anything above 100,000 + . All police leave in Yorkshire was cancelled.
What was the Date? -
Was it a Second Division match. ?.
What was the score?
- Who scored?
Was it at Bootham Crescent ?.

All our younger fans should put this match in their scrapbooks.

Is the "York away a MYTH ?."

Any glory hunter can attend a promotion decider or cup final. The true test of loyalty is whether you were there when things went tits up. So I've compiled ten of our recent(ish) away games which have become iconic for the wrong reasons. Can anyone get close to 10/10?

Shrewsbury 0-2 1979
Halifax 0-1 1980
Brighton 1-4 1982
Derby 0-6 1989
United 0-5 1994
Liverpool 0-6 1995
Lincoln 1-4 97
Darlington 1-1 1998
York 2-2 - 1998
Boro 1-8 - 2008

Missed the Darlo Cup tie, did the rest.
Part timer ",where were you when we were shit"

Cheeky git, I'll tell you if I see you at Chelsea. ;-)

Re: Proper Loyalty Test - were you at these?

Let me throw this in the hat....

Do you attend games for your own enjoyment?

Or... Do you attend games to just fill the scrapbook, and or brag to friends that you attended the xxxxx match?

It doesn't matter to me what game(s) you did or didn't attend.

There could be somebody on here right now who attended every single match, home and away during the XXXXX season, but on the day we played XXXXX his child was rushed to an hospital which resulted in him missing that particular all important match.

Yet, somebody who had never even been to watch City before ended up using his ticket and going to the match.
The following year that somebody moved to Scotland and now supports Hibernian.

it doesn't mean anything. So get in line and keep paying your money.

Mansour had probably never even heard of City until only a few years ago yet he owns our fucking club.
Only game I can recall seeing him at was the Liverpool home game.

Mate, it's a bit of lighthearted fun. There's no trophy or wooden spoon on offer.
