Wesley Sneijder

He was great until he married a gold digger, i'm convinced that made him lazy and confident of his position and wage.

So can Sneijder. He's known for being a damn good dribbler. He definitely can, but he's a lazy fuck 95% of time. Other 5% of the time he's magic.
I know its not right to use one game as an example, but did you see Inter v Barca during their CL winning season? In fact, for that whole season he worked as hard as anyone could ask. He can dominate a midfield. It depends on the coach motivation to get the best out of him I think. I don't think its fair to just label him lazy for convenience.

^I like the player, I try to watch Inter as much as I can. He is fucking lazy no doubt in my mind. And yep, that's one game. I still want him though.

Pastore on the other hand can actually play out wide and beat a man.

He has got ball control but his pace is nothing - he has to play in the center (

Well center predominantly, but he definitely has no problems drifting out wide, etc. He's no winger for sure though. However, if he drifts out wide, do note that he crosses well.

Yes, without doubt - he has two of the best feet in world football. But I still don't think he is what we need.

that should do it......................

Well then Sabster, what DO we need, eh?

I myself would rather have Mata, but very few have Sneijder's range of passing, long range shooting accuracy, added to the fact that in my opinion he's the best free kick taker in the world. I don't see anything bad that can come from it.

But then again, who is the trequartista, Silva, or Sneijder?

27 years of age. And we all know this guy is proven...and getting even better.

Thoughts?

Passes Compilations (there was a better one but couldn't find it):

A nice little highlight vid, missing some good clips but great highlights nonetheless:

I tried to look for a free kick compilation to show you guys, but I couldn't find one. A lot of people are saying he's the best free kick taker right now. But that's all opinions, I'd say Ronaldo. We can argue this all day, but if he comes to the Premier league, he just might be the best free kick taker in our league.

Here's a good article comparing him to other kick takers. It has english captions under the Italian words:

But yeah, you guys already know Sneijder. I personally think he's the time of midfielder we need to complement the team.

Edit: He also despises Robin Van Persie. That always helps I guess. :P

Sneijder is top drawer but £44m would be grossly overpriced. Luckily the origin of that rumour is a Twitter WUM.

For Sneijder I'd be reluctant to pay more than £30m despite his exquisite class, because of his very shaky injury record. Bad knees and you'll be lucky to get more than 20 league appearances/40 overall appearances from him based on recent seasons.

Yaya's in the trequartista position - we don't have a No. 10 role, because we sacrifice that for defensive solidity. So do most teams.

Thus any creative signings are either:

a) going to play off a wing like Silva or Sanchez, or
b) going to be able to put a shift in - like Fabregas, Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard.

We no longer have any Cantonas, Bergkamps or Zolas in this country. For a long time, the most forwardly-positioned of the midfielders has been in the Gerrard/Lampard mould. The Joe Coles, Silvas, Nasris, Arshavins all get pushed to the wings.
