Now that was a performance. Absolutely brilliant every single one them
Yes fair enough. But when Sam was manager of Blackburn rovers I went to a few games with a pal who had a season ticket and saw his tactics live. A regular tactic was for any free kick within their own half the keeper would hoof into the penalty box. Any throw in in the final third and long throw into box. WBA did this last night on the three occasions they got possession of the ball / set piece.I sort of agree about playing it out the back. Obviously it works if you have the talent but some of the teams I’ve seen attempt it and constantly lose it is mental. Some people just aren’t built for it
Alright me old Cocker.Who knows what tomorrow brings
In a world few hearts survive
All I know is the way I feel
When it's real, I keep it alive
The road is long
There are mountains in our way
But we climb a step every day
City lift us up where we belong
Where the eagles cry
On a mountain high
City lift us up where we belong
Far from the world below
Up where the clear winds blow
Sorry nicked from Officer and a Gentleman but I thought it appropriate for us right now
Plus Warnock as wellBut BFS was ahead of his time y'know
He was the originator of players bringing their own pillows when staying away from home and having dossiers on players at his new club
You watch the way Cheltenham play under their young manager and then witness dinosaurs like Allardyce, Bruce and Pullis given jobs and you then understand why football hasn't progressed
Football has evolved, big Sam hasn't.Yes fair enough. But when Sam was manager of Blackburn rovers I went to a few games with a pal who had a season ticket and saw his tactics live. Its non league tactics played at prem league skill level.
I think that needs to be 8 as, since Bernardo has been back in. The whole teams energy levels and quickness of play, has been back to where we have become so accustomed to, over Peps reign. The 7:
Ederson
Cancelo
Dias
Stones
Gundogan
Foden
Rodri
Add 4 and let's go cooking :)
I knew Pablo Escobar was still alive! After his save on the first minute this is how Ederson felt for the rest of the game
They almost scored from one and it was their only real threat which makes it a viable tactic. The good news is that now the only credible option these lesser teams have, long balls in the box from set pieces, is largely nullified by Dias, Stones and Rodri. We also try very hard not to give away free kicks as an insurance policy.Yes fair enough.
