Having just watched the replay after avoiding social media & the scores for 5 hours which in 2020 is a effort was a great performance and good to put away a side like West Brom ruthlessly and how we should, especially after the home game with them.

Gundogan deserves a special mention for his season so far, he's arguably our player of the year behind Dias, and Cancelo has come a long way this season now he's adapted to our system and the Premier League.

Another win, another clean sheet and great to see so many players hitting form now.

Half way through the season and top and all possibilities ahead of us for the run home. Couldn't be better placed.

I’m struggling to remember the last City signing, (probably Aguero) to make such an immediate impact as Dias, but it's equally amazing how the previously anonymous Rodri, Cancelo and Gundogen, have all suddenly become so influential. It feels so fresh, and once more I find myself wondering if Guardiola was deliberately holding something back last Autumn when the team looked slow and pedestrian. Perhaps we went down a scientific route of fitness, but Gundogen in particular, suddenly looks a yard quicker.

My only concern (not so much last night, but moving forward) is Zinchenko’s lack of mobility when the opposition have the ball.

The 2nd goal was an absolute farce, but I’d love to the see a replay of the Aguero goal at Old Trafford last season, which was eventually disallowed, despite the lineman flagging too soon, and Aguero looking onside.
I tend to think you are right with Pep holding us back in a way. He knew we wouldn't be hitting any semblance of form until late November with no pre season etc so he decided to make us hard to beat (besides the Leicester game which is a anamoly) and keep us within touching distance until our fitness and form came back.

Long way to go yet but we are better placed then anyone at this moment.

After his save on the first minute this is how Ederson felt for the rest of the game

Torres not yet settled in, just the same as Rodri and Cancelo before him. Dias is just a bloody freak.
Yes, it takes time to settle in to a new team, league, country. Comfortable players now showing their class.
And Dias is OUR freak. What a signing.

very good first half, ripped them a new one, really destructive and pacey stuff.

3 seasons ago i would have had sympathy for the flag thing, but then a ref wouldnt have played on 3 seasons ago - that time has gone, the instructions are stressed even more (than usual) to play to the whistle as VAR has created this strange review system we now have. No sympathy.

everyone played well, Foden had one of his quieter nights and Mahrez was a little wasteful when he drifted in the middle, certainly not his position. Great game

Oh what a night,
Watching City every other night,
We beat [insert latest victims] cos they're fucking shite,
watching City, what a night

Just had a look at the table

Obviously main thing is we are TOTL

But nice to see now we are only 1 behind Liverpool on goals scored and way out in front on goals conceded.

Early season problems well and truly ironed out

7 points clear of Liverpool at this stage was unthinkable after that West Brom game in Dec

Sian M-E used never to get offsides wrong. Have they done the vertical lines to show how close it was (his head was further forward than his feet)? But why would she flag at that point? Still, haven't we had a couple of attacks stopped this season by wrong offside flags?

I missed the first half - so watching it after the event I was actually a bit disappointed after all Robbie Savage's "magnificents". Total control, but not really total football - not against a team that's really not very good. Better yet to come, I hope.
She flagged because someone in her ear told her to. She didn’t wait until he played the ball as he touched it at least 5 times before she flagged, only the ref ignoring her ensured the goal stood.
No reason they should be flagging at all if it’s close, just let play continue and if a goal is scored then they can disallow it at that point.

I don't get all this playing out from the back nonsense is a famous quote from a big fat football dinosaur. Look and learn you fat bastard and you should never get another job in football management. Will obviously resign before season ends to preserve his never been relegated record that sky and talkshite always bring up
Love that quote about playing out from the back nonsense. I wonder if he still doesn't get it after watching his team being completely out played. If he doesn't get it and still insists on prehistoric tactics then he deserves the sack immediately. I think he really doesn't get it and is a complete Fogey.

Excellent performance tonight from City and I was delighted to see Big Sam, The Dinosaurs Dinosaur, Allardyce is still sprinkling his unmagic dust. Everywhere the **** goes, death and pestilence are waiting. Every year or so they open his crypt as some idiot thinks, we are right in the shite, how could we possibly make it worse? Sam trots up and shows them how. After he gets sacked and 're embalmed, another club pops up to sign on for a fate worse than a fate worse than death. He must be in treble figures of clubs beguiled by his hype and thrown off a cliff. Once he gets sacked tomorrow, I'm convinced he will end up at Celtic and that will be my signal to walk the earth. But, apart from that ****, you're looking tasty.
But BFS was ahead of his time y'know
He was the originator of players bringing their own pillows when staying away from home and having dossiers on players at his new club

You watch the way Cheltenham play under their young manager and then witness dinosaurs like Allardyce, Bruce and Pullis given jobs and you then understand why football hasn't progressed

I sort of agree about playing it out the back. Obviously it works if you have the talent but some of the teams I’ve seen attempt it and constantly lose it is mental. Some people just aren’t built for it

Absolutely fantastic performance from everyone.
Len and Gundo were the pick of the bunch though.. Rod wasn't far behind tbh.
Must be a nightmare for defenders trying to figure out who to mark when our play is so fluid.
I'm not a huge fan of Mahrez but I thought he took his goal well and actually put in some effort.. I've never disputed his ability just his effort..
Dias is the defender we have missed since Vinny retired..
Nice to see Joleon and Gaz Baz on bt too..
