West Brom Post Match Thread

It was a painful end to the game, why aguero was on I dont know. Should have subbed him for Demi on 74mins. Nasri and kdb need some coaching on closing out games!

Wasn't a pretty win, but thank f*** we still got it in the end. Our second string of players need some serious reviewing.

I honestly think that the average man on the street with only an ounce of football knowledge could have managed us to higher than fourth this season.

Currently 15 other premier league managers wish you was right.

Could and should we have done better? yes imo but is it as easy as so many make out on here? No, it isnt.

Shows how unlucky we have been this season with injuries to key players.

Players with great technique and brains like Kun KDB and Nasri should thrive next season under Pep.

Players like the traffic cone Bony and stupid Mangala have zero chance.

True..any news bout Aguero? :(

Kun would take a dump and limp away from the bog and that's the truth.

I've seen a few reports saying it as just a kick and he will be fine so fingers crossed but he is a player who you watch through squinted eyes just waiting for the next limp at times.

That said, he is incredible.

Tell me what he did wrong, other than misplacing a pass which was difficult to execute. If you are judging him on that, then you need to think again.
He did literally nothing which is the point, every game just passes him by. Kelechi is raw but at least he always looking for the ball and trying to create chances even if doesn't all come off.

I thought Mangala had another good game today. When you consider kolarov was playing so far forward and the midfield was porous again he coped with it pretty well. The pen shout was a bit clumsy but it was a 50:50 decision at best and big centre halves are going to get a few of those over a season. He did a lot of good things defensively in the game and was decent on the ball.

good to have a fit and interested Samir back. Sergio is coming back far to deep( at one point he picked the up behind Kolorov) can only be frustration that drives him to do this i applaud his commitment but that is not where he does the damage

Lack of movement
Poor passing
Lack of closing down
Beaten in the air every time
All the threat of a giant sloth
Generally getting in the way

We'd be better with 10. At least he would get on the way and force Aguero into the central third.

Having seen Manchester City play for the past three years under Pellegrini, the thing that strikes me the most is that we actually won a Premier League under him.

I guess every manager becomes stale at his club and among his player within a few years of his employment. A decade ago, maybe that period of effectiveness was 5-6 years. In today's age, it has probably dropped to 3-4 years.

But what is most bewildering with our gaffer is that he seems to commit the most naive of errors in judgement.
What possible reason would compel him to play Bony instead of Iheanacho? Every man and his dog can see that the team plays with more fluidity with Nacho than with Bony. It's not as if this game's first 60 minutes were the first time we saw as evidence for that.

What possible reason would compel him to play Aguero till he had to limp off with a knock? Substituting him at 20 minutes after we had scored the second vital goal, is something i cannot understand. We have the most amazing opportunity to get through to the semifinals of the Champions League(*knocks on wood*), proving a massive point to all the f***ing naysayers. And then we had to literally shoot ourselves in the foot in such a foolhardy manner?! Typical City or just sheer ineptness?! Is that because he thought that Aguero might bag another goal and seal the win? Well then give him help in the form of Iheanacho to begin with, not the ineffective Bony!!

There were some weird decisions taken by him today. I like the man a lot. As a gent, he is right up there with the best and there are many aspects of his conduct that I would like to inculcate in my own life. But some of his decisions, or shall we say, non-decisions really wind me up.

At least he got the substitutions right. But we got lucky at the end there. So more often than not, this season, we have ended up squeaking through. Having said that, I'd rather squeak through than not get through at all. Plus, wasn't Nasri class?!

That makes zero sense.

Agreed, it doesn't.

My point is that some on here think its all so easy picking a side and winning games at this level when the reality is far from it.

Apologies for a shit post.

No, funnilly enough i am allowed an opinion. Bony did what he had to do, won his battles and kept things simple. He got no service

I have to disagree , he simply doesn't fit into the City team in any capacity whatsoever. He is a massive disappointment and goodness knows why Pelligrini persists with him and yet leaves Ineacho on the bench.

Seriously poor management imo !
