West Brom post-match thread

Tough game coming up and lots of games played, were they under orders to just see out the last 30 min with minimum effort? Would like to think so, otherwise it could cost us. Brilliant today again when we were up for it.

Very proud of the boys in blue and also very proud of England winning the world cup..on a personal note..well done young Phil.

Bit of a mixed bag today for me, so so good to have the shark team back, we controlled possession, moved them around and were patient(aside from a few long range efforts) when we needed to be. The passage of play for Sterling's goal was brilliant, he was great when he came on as was Sané throughout the game.

We didn't create as many chances as we normally do but KDB should have scored one and Silva should have had 2 and that was against Tony Pulis' West Brom away from home. That's not really bad going against a packed organised defence but we need to be back to top form for Napoli. The only negative is the goals we gifted them, we can't do that against top opposition, last season we would probably have dropped points there after giving them some hope.

Controlled the game - a bit sloppy with a few passes/touches/shots - could easily have won by a larger margin.

It's interesting that the aggressive pressing in our own half had so little effect on our side. Last year such press would have been much more problematic.

At around the 80 min mark or so, the game really opened up with West Brom committing numbers forward. We had a several really good chances to score at this point and had we done so, the game would have been completely beyond West Brom as our margin would have been 3 (or more).

Mixed feelings on the game today. As usual we look breathtaking at times but we have definitely been a bit below par here and there the last few games. The good news is we are still winning, it is a pity we can't just have a breather for a week to recoup, relax and recharge the batteries a bit. The goals we gave away were very poor and you can bet old moan a lot at the swamp will play in a similar way when we play them, Lukaku and bog brush head fighting all the long balls they will pump at us. Despite this if we had taken our chances we could have scored six. Sane is becoming our Tevez, his energy and fight lifting the team at times. Pullis's words in the mail are utter shite, we gave them a game etcetera. No you were outclassed our fuck up's have you a game! Onwards and upwards hopefully!

Stones was immaculate today. Delph not far behind. Sane terrorised them and would have run away with MOM but a couple of times his final ball let him down

Happy days. Even when we’re not at our imperious best we dominate teams with nearly 80% possession and on another day could have scored 7 or 8

The way we are creating chances, surely it won’t be long before someone is on the end of a double figure ass whooping.
It should have been 5 or 6, cut out the errors and we could go for a while without defeat.
