West Brom Vs City Post Match Thread

good display in the first game, after a pretty poor pre-season. big test on sunday and an early marker to put down with a win. Being aware of a fast counter attack will be what helps win against our rivals

What a great start to the season. It seems the new system we're playing in still has the attacking qualities from the previous seasons but also gives us extra protection for the back 4. Everyone seemed to put in a solid 8/10 performance, Hart even if he didn't have much to do was very impressive with his collecting and punching of crosses, Mangala and Kompany finally found a way of working together and it's very effective, Kolarov and Sagna especially did very well and Sagna was more effective offensively today. Yaya was incredible today, seemed to have found his hunger again and that showed, brilliant goal but that's what you expect from a hungry Yaya, Fernandinho was solid and his positional play was good but he needs to cut out the silly free kicks, he does it too much and sometime it's going to cost us. David Silva, there are no words, just wish people would stop kicking him all the time! Sterling for me was nervous but he still put in a good performance, showed moments of what's to come with his quick acceleration, the finishing will come with age, Navas as well was effective especially in defence. Bony for me still doesn't look 100% but it will come as he gets his fitness up, gives us an option for kicking it long and worked well with Silva by chesting it down.

All in all a very good performance, fans were excellent as well so special mention to them. Oh and one more thing.... We scored from a corner!!!

Superb City! Silva magical, completely ran the game, Sagna was excellent too, as was Navas. Yaya, fucking immense, well played fella. Brilliant!

Just got in from the Leve Cricket Club (free Chinese buffet at half time - why the fuck would you go to the game?), was Silva motm?
Silva is Master of the Universe, never mind man of the match.

Right it's time for +1 Suits!

Excellent performance, from a team written off by the critics! Chelsea stumble to a draw at home, Arsenal humiliated at home by West Ham, yet it's a below strength City side without Zaba, Aguero, and supposedly an out of sort captain and his liability partner in the centre of defence, who anchor a win with a clean sheet.
Good defensive performance, all had serious game faces on, Vinny's goal celebration was particularly cathartic!
David Silva was utterly sublime, should've had a penalty ( no doubt at home we would've ) Yaya looks hungry, Sterling had his moments and should've scored, and the away fans were awesome!

Passed them to death. Early days I know but lovely to watch.
