West Brom Vs City Post Match Thread

Impressive start by you lot. David Silva orchestrating the play is one of the most pleasant things to watch in world football, a step above anyone in the league in that creative role behind the striker. Raheem looks like he'll be right at home although his finishing is the same as it was with us, inconsistent.

sounded like we had very good away support last night which is always good to see. great performance from all and message sent out to our rivals

Quite simply its all about playing 1 striker, that's the key to it, we have started where we left off and credit to Manuel he seems to have noticed it and is acting upon it, coupled with the drive the lads shown last night then we will take some fucking stopping, as Vinny said about people not having us as one of the favourites is all the motivation the lads need.

I have to say, I thought that was one of Navas' best ever city games. I thought he was excellent. Silva was unbelievable, Yaya was back to his dominant best, and the whole defence was solid.

My early season prediction is, IF we can beat the chavs on Sunday, we will be top of the league for the whole season, and win it by 14 points.

How's that for confidence.

I thought the threat of sterling gave us more freedom in the danger zones, last year was ponderous in the extreme but last night we moved up the field a lot quicker, Fernandinho was class and an unsung hero for me.

I also should have mentioned Fernandinho. What a player he is, to put in that performance without any pre season action. His passing was immense, and showed us again why he is one of the best CM's around. Very under rated.

I was very angry when we bought MDM on at 3-0 up though, instead of giving Denayer, or even Iheanacho a run out. But, with performances like that, there should be plenty more opportunities in the coming weeks.

Agree with Navas comment, he closed down their defence and keeper from 1st to 90th minute

Are people really trying to say that we only looked so good because of Pulis, we looked good because we were good. Its possibly the best we've played in over 12 months, there was a focus that was missing last season, a determination, hunger, whatever you want to call it, Pulis didn't have any effect at all. They could have had 14 on the pitch in the first 30 minutes, and they still wouldn't have got the ball off us.

We could easily have scored 2 or 3 more, and when you factor in who didn't start, that 4 of that squad hadn't played a single minute before last night, it was a really very good performance, as winter says "ominous".
