West Ham (A) - EFL Cup R4 - Post-Match Thread

and? Your looking at the past. Who’s to say we can’t.

as I said years of winning nothing I want to win as many trophies as possible. It’s not going to last forever
Read what I said: I said it isn’t the end of the world. Just as it wouldn’t be to go out of the fa cup. Because it eases congestion and allows to make a better fist of the premier league and champions league, both of which will be very competitive this year.

I didn’t say I wanted us to lose either so get off your big blue high horse. This is not a complicated or controversial point or one that anybody sensible would argue with.

why are all the away teams booing grealish ?? i don't understand it he had a good world cup and everybody was cheering him on and willing him to score

Not far short of a year ago, when we beat the rags superbly in the semi-final, I looked in on Redcafé. Someone posted “We've got bigger fish to fry”. Well, in the end, they had no fish to fry. The frying pan was empty.

I'll never, ever say that. I'm disappointed. Disappointed because on every single count except the result we distinctly dominated that match. Seven shots on target. Eight off. Not one in the back of the net.
Winning breeds confidence, and breeds the habit of winning.
Pissed off.
Nail on the head. If Pep wasn't arsed then play a team of academy players. All this does is sap at players confidence.

Pleased with Ake, Stones, Zin, Fern, and Palmer.
West Ham were as well organised as you would expect but we were the better team and penalties are a lottery - you'd never expect Phil to shoot wide but it happens.
KDB is so out of form and I really feel for him as it is obvious that he knows and that it is really preying on him. Gundo looks a bit short of match practise and Cancelo definitely did not look as solid as Kyle but the substitution was understandable. Hopefully, losing this match benefits us a little in the long run.

yep it was a free header 6 yards out and you have to score ? you head it down to one of the corners they teach you
maybe sterling was off that day the teaching of headers was on the rota
No belief, it was just stick his head on it and hope. Wank.

We played 3 defenders who`ve hardly played this season. We played the out of form Sterling and De Bruyne, and took out the 2 players who work the hardest in Bernardo and Jesus.

The first part of your statement isn't the problem. They didn't concede in open play, and did a workmanlike job.
The second part is the problem. Sterling is finished as having a major impact. Kev is very, very worrying.

Too many players off their games I''m afraid but we still should have won that in normal time.

Midfield 3 were quite poor and Sterling and Mahrez too. Palmer the only forward with any real desire.

Right now Foden, Grealish, Rodri and Bernardo have to start all the important games.
Lets face it Sterling is always poor. The others just have the odd off match.

You don't know it's going to get to you until it hits you on the head, Ake had more time at the end of the first half, it was a typical away game, most we need a lucky deflection.

It becomes a cultural thing in some bizarre condemnation of the money in the game. The reality is that the game is so utterly tribal that it really is any crumb to criticise a superior opponent.

To be honest I'm not convinced he'd not just go the way of KDB, Jesus and Foden who were all absolute killers in front of goal when they arrived and have gone backwards massively.
You may be right.

The way we play at the moment with players rotating a lot, we have a lot of them getting in the way of each other at times and trying to do too much, because defences are crowding them out. I don't really see this as much in other teams games.

If we had a 'proper' striker, i think we'd start playing players in their more natural positions, which should lead to more space.

everything just seemed half arsed, kev, mahrez, gundogan and sterling were shocking
