I think your right re Silva..a new lease of life indeed. And it has shocked me tbh.i never thought id see this gifted consummate professional footballer up his game ...at this stage of his career...words fail me.I think David’s experience of the last year has really hit home. I think he’s like a new man, an even better player than he ever was as I think he’s got this attitude that life is short and a football career is even shorter so he’s just going all out to enjoy it while he can.
He’s been so good this season it’s just unbelievable.
I’ve always been one of those people that if I met someone famous, a musician I like or a City player, I’d say hello and leave them alone, not mither them for a picture or in the old days an autograph. But I think I’d have to tell him that I think he’s the greatest player we’ve ever had.
And Leroy, he excites me, can’t eait to see how good he becomes!
I d have to disagree re greatest player tho! That can only be Colin Bell.and i say that as someone who never saw him play.but of course having studied his career watched so much footage and spoken to so many football fans up and down the country who remember him,not just City fans...folk who go all misty eyed if you get them on the subject, even those who dont like City or are on the wind up ,often say with a wry smile.."he was a bloody good player Bell"
Bells stamina, quiet steely passion, his running, his heading ability, his bursts from midfield, his pinpoint passing, both short pass amd move ...and long raking passes to set others away, his tackling, his almost shy reserved manner of celebrating a goal, the unstoppable surges from midfield to run thru a defence and score....and...THAT goal at Chelsea..the full snap volley which had the ball in the back of the net before keeper Bonetti could..move....and perhaps, most of all..because his mother died whilst giving birth to him...to overcome that misfortune..and still suceed....the goal at Rotherham... leading to the late 60s eatly 70s sucess...He is the greatest ,imo.
Best City player ive seen tho is Yaya..for all his off the field faults/outbursts ...He was majestic many times over in the City midfield .
And as for Leroy...sky is the limit really.
