West Ham Fans

What I like most about west ham away, is that you can mix freely with their fans in any of the pubs, and so long as you don't (seriously) take the piss, you rarely get any bother, just banter, and generally good football chat. Simple down to earth football fans, who love their football (and I feel sorry they are lumbered with fat sams style just now, not to mention gold and sullivan in charge). They've always been similar to us as a fanbase, and we've had similar troubles.

Not having a dig but curious why such a small % of west ham fans seem to wear colours. The train I was on was packed by the time it reached Upton Park but I didnt see a single West Ham shirt or scarf. On the way back there were just 3 or 4 in the carriage wearing shirts.
I don't wear colours. There's maybe the odd coincidence that I have something on that's Blue. I find grown men that wear football shirts at the match to be a bit odd. Why wear them? Are they expecting the manager to give them a game? There was 100 years of football where 100% of the crowd didn't have a replica shirt on. If I'm playing footy, or I'm at the gym or I'm just lounging about at home I might wear a footy shirt; when I'm out in public I wear my clothes.

I find it more odd that someone would question a fan wearing their teams colours... very strange.

Few tossers outside the away coaches tried to let down the west ham fans, young ones who probably don't remember city being down in the dumps

I'll second what most on here are saying about the Hammers fans, they in the main are a decent lot and in a different league to those who support Spurs and Arsenal. I'm sure like we do they have a fair few knobs hence the previous comments about young 'uns in the coach park but hey they are nothing in comparison to the 70000 plus in M16 every second Saturday. Such a shame they have that Fergie sycophant at the helm though.

Just a shame our fans were so shite really we were silent most of the game.

I have no problem with people who wear shirts to the game and if I was older I would probably wear one but at my age its just asking for aggro

Can't say I had a nice experience to be honest.

Chavvy 18-year old elbowing every city fan he passed outside the stadium. When someone had a go at him, he retorted with "welcome to london".

And then after the game we went for a kebab whilst the tube queues died down, only to find some pisshead shouting at us for only starting supporting city last year (because city had an average attendence of 0 before we won anything obviously) and claiming we'd never been to maine road unlike he had in the 1980s. What a wanker.

This was our first trip to West Ham and having previously visited the other London grounds in the prem this was the most enjoyable apart from being positioned three rows back central to the pen spot! Gave for a different perspective I suppose.
Good banter on the tube no issues whatsoever. No delays after at Upton Park either.
Sorry to report that the gobby piss heads on the way back to the tube were ours trying to get a rise out of the home town boys..it all makes for good entertainment tho...

You didn't need to trek to East Ham. I stayed to the final whistle and got straight on a tube from Upton Park to Euston Square. Got to Euston station for 8.05, in plenty of time for the 8.20.

You must've jumped the barrier outside the Tube Station then ;)

I am 22 and would always wear my top and would never look for trouble. Our London support is shite, no offence but it’s not like west brom away or Wigan

Bit overkill on the Tevez love-in.

Also, 'Joe Hart, you're a c*nt, Joe Hart Joe Hart you're a c*nt' was particularly witty.
