West Ham (H) - Post-Match Thread

The 442 "David Silva" Press is easily bypassed by any team that goes at us.

David played well today, but he is too slow to rely on to be on the front line of our press. Our 3-4-3 press always looked good to me.

It also just fucks things up, makes it much harder for us to attack because Jesus was defending near Mendy on the left, and there's only 2 midfielders, so it's impossible to cut through teams at speed in the trademark way we did in 2017-2019.

Just reached home after a match which was basically a training exercise. Will have only one memory which is seeing Zaba for probably the last time. Still three points is three points.

Spent an hour stuck on the M62 in my car. Didn't get into the stadium till half time. They should have given MOTM to Zabba for the laughs.
Nice to get a win. Nice to be watching football on the actual pitch. Oh yes, and KDB.

Took me 2.5hrs to get from Warrington to Chadderton. Managed to get in right on kick off. I know people who turned round and went home cos they were gonna miss half the game.

Although no doubt there are some genuine reasons for the poor crowd...... rearranged game and also hard especially for the fans that have to travel plus no doubt some people have booked holidays due to half term........but still really poor from the rest that couldn’t be bothered to turn up !

Routine 3 points and a useful exercise in acquiring match fitness before the big cup ties next week. Kev was outstanding and we’ll need him to be that good in Madrid because we do look a bit humdrum for long spells. West Ham were dire, snodgrass must’ve been drunk so easily did he fall over when challenged

standard result - ok performance - controlled and never threatened - feel for the hammers fans as that team didnt even try to get a result

Some good performances from Walker, KDB, D.Silva and Kun

That performance from Jesus shows why there is a real concern about Aguero hanging up his boots - Jesus is just not a natural goalscorer - he works hard and his performance in the build up is very good - but infront of goal he just doesnt have it - he has had 3 years now and he isnt looking like improving - we need to look elsewhere and that could be difficult with the recent developments unless they are overturned.

Next game Leicester and we will need to up our performance.

Crowd were subdued (and low attendance) - is that cause it was re arragned and the time of Kick off (slightly earlier) or because of this weeks news and some fans have given up hope - what was the feeling from inside the stadium from those there??????
I was there and was very disappointed with the attendance - when your clubs back is against the wall everyone should pull together and show their support - sorry no excuses - given up hope ? Did we give up hope when we were relegated and almost went out of business ? Club motto is Pride in Battle and the best way to stand shoulder to shoulder with the club hierarchy through these testing times is to put your arse on one of those seats - weather it be West Ham Real Madrid or whoever

West Ham were crap..

I hope they're saving themselves for the next game..!

One of the worst sides I've seen at the Etihad this season..!

I didn’t understand what they were trying to do

It was like they were happy to take a 2-0 defeat and protected it to not make it worse

Guess that’s what happens when you appoint a total loser as you’re manager
