West Ham (H) - Post-Match Thread

Very poor match. That's why Moyes is limited as a coach. I think City were beatable today but WHU were too negative. A game when the 3 points is everything. City looked like we had just played PSG in midweek.

It's rare that you will see a game played at walking pace when it's 1-0 but we did that.
That first half was played in a blizzard!
I thought we were excellent at keeping the ball when the snow was heaviest, WHU couldn't get near the ball and it's when we scored, should've had a second too.

Your assessment is a bit harsh, they hardly laid a glove on us.

I wondered what their obsession with Mendy was. They were singing for ages about him on the Met on the way to the ground and then sang about a three minute song about him at the ground.

Not one City fan gives a shit about the **** and we all hope he goes down and has the key thrown away if he’s found guilty… why would West Ham fans think we care?

They sang songs like it was a club legend who we’d all be really bothered about.
Back in the day, they'd have just sent Ronnie and Reggie round to have a word with him. Then back to the Blind Beggar and all gather around the the old Joanna for a bit of Mother Brown.
"Is this the liboiiiwey"?

Alot of talk about Declan Rice performance today, He done well to a certain extent breaking up play and having a good engine on him getting around, Jury is still out on him big time though about his ability on the ball always looking for an easy option or giving it away plus West Ham parked a bus today too so he had plenty of bodies around him.
Personally I don't think he's anywhere near the likes of Rodri.

Touch and go getting there today thanks to our shambolic railway network.
(how on earth do snowy rainy cold hot countries cope!?)
Great turn out though, decent enough atmosphere in SSL1.
Can we do it on a cold Wednesday winter's night and a brassic Sunday afternoon?
Course we can.
Well played Blues.
I had no problems getting there but fuck me it was a nightmare getting home..waited ages in queue for tram and got to Ashton at 5.15..bus was due at 5.23..didnt turn up till 5.53..arrivef home at 6.25..fucking joke as I only live in Haughton Green..the transport system is a joke.
Really happy with the 3 points and let's be honest we deserved them.
We struggled a bit with the conditions first half but we're still the better team..2nd half we controlled it as we normally do.
Thought Rod Gundo and Bernie were fantastic again..
Nobody had a bad game but a few were underpar for how they normally play but we won and that's all that matters.
West Ham were a bit disappointing to be honest but they will take points off teams around the top of the table.

It wasn’t hard fought, that score line flatters west ham. It is annoying how we don’t put away our chances
Totally agree. Dominant performance. City bossed the game comfortably. Hit woodwork twice, two cleared off the line with keeper beaten, Jesus missed a sitter and two goals chalked off for offside. First one unfortunate, the second was well off. Fernandinho showed good & bad in his 5 min cameo. Great dominant performance in very difficult conditions. 2-1 flattered West Ham, they couldn’t complain if it finished 5 or 6-1. Easy!
