I went on the match day thread yesterday and I thought Sterling must have been particularly bad given the abuse and vilification that he was getting. I watched the game this morning to see for myself , I think he played well. Given the amount of goals and trophies he has scored \won with the club does he not deserve our respect? In addition I listened to the game on 5 live yesterday. I got the impression that West Ham were the best team in the first half , which turned out to be the exact opposite. The commentators are supposed to describe the game not follow their own agenda. Rubbish from the BBC

Leaned over the barrier in SS L3 at full time and shook hands with a few old timer ( me too) Hammers fans.

Reminded them about 87, mutual respect.

I think like us they have some young knob ends that follow them.

The younger element have probably watched too many YouTube videos about the ICF and want a bit of that. Too late lads those days have long gone. With all the surveillance and technology you're getting nicked, unless you support Liverpool and have a complicit police force.

Our team spirit feels really strong this season.

Every player has the odd iffy game they're not fucking machines

He’s wank but that’s besides the point :-)
I just don’t think posters should feel the need to rush to the defence of a player who had a rare poor performance, because that’s all most are committing on. One game. It happens to the best of them. No biggie.
Nobody is doubting his quality, but that quality was missing yesterday. Lots of context as to why that may be, all fair as well. Conditions, recovery from a big game midweek etc. All valid points.

Cut off is after the 19th game so he has to get through Villa, Watford, Wolves, Newcastle, Leeds and Leicester without a booking.

Walker isn't as good as people keep making out. He has pace and that's it.

You cannot play at the top level for a top team and be one of their most consistent performers and simply only have pace. That's a poor take. I think that is the most polite response I can come up with.

Often going to appear slow when playing against an organised and athletic team who play with a low block.
