West Ham (H) - Post-Match Thread

Moyes played their first 11 in the same way he played against us in the Cup with their 2nd 11 hoping for the same result. Hes a dull dinosaur manager refusing to recognise that the games moved on. They have a decent side and could have had a go at us and see where it got them, but no, ultra defensive with no ambition. We are lucky that our squad is so good that we can try and win every game and have a manager that lives by that ethos. Listening to Moyes telling the world they deserved something out of the game was fucking laughable. In my opinion they got exactly what they deserved - nothing. The fact they scored was fucking robbery with 3 attempts on target. We should have dicked them by 4 yesterday and at least that would have been a fair representation of the match. Im glad this low block bullshit seldom gets anything out of us - its fucking dull as ditchwater to watch and somehow we are accused of being boring having to play against this shit week in week out.

We saw the best of Mahrez vs PSG and the most frustrating version of him yesterday.

Great player but sometimes his decision making kills me.

Square it to Gundo FFS!!
I am guessing you are talking about the instance where he hit the post, I thought the shot was the right decision, he was six yards out and the keeper was down. A pass would have been a worse choice, there was a defender between him and Gundo to intercept it.

That said he went missing most of the second half and would have probably been subbed if there were good options on the bench.

All told though an excellent win in awful conditions vs a very tough and organised west ham side. A really polished workmanlike performance.
Yea Mahrez should’ve squared to Gundog . If he had then maybe mr whippy would’ve scored a goal.
But also Gundog should’ve squared to mahrez when he was wide open .
Anyways it’s raz’s fault .

Very odd game, not helped by the weather. WHU though were truly awful for a team with even top 6 ambitions. Set up as a 4 6 0 with little or no interest in crossing the half way line, typical Moyes team. Mahrez and Sterling blew their chance of saying to Pep I am undroppable. Looked tired last 20 hence but big shout out to Rodders who is unrecognisable from even last season and Bernie. Laporte again looked dodgy when players run at him, needs to go back to basic defending. Cancelo one booking away from a suspension so needs to be careful as he adds a lot more attacking wise than Zinny. Three points though against a team, whilst lacking any ambition will take points off other teams around us this season. Finally can someone confiscate phones from kids to avoid them flashing their torches and WTF were WHU fans singing about in the second half to some unheard off tune.
Think that’s a bit harsh. I thought Mahrez and Sterling did well. Sterling especially was really dangerous 2nd half.

Moan moan facking moan what's wrong with people, you should have watched us early 60s when I first started going crowds of just 8,000 for LEAGUE games and shite.Imagine 8,000 in a 63,000 capacity Maine road.
But I thought we regularly got 30,000 plus even when we got relegated twice. That 8,000 crowd must have been exceptional. I certainly don't remember it.

I listened to the game on 5 live yesterday. I got the impression that West Ham were the best team in the first half , which turned out to be the exact opposite. The commentators are supposed to describe the game not follow their own agenda. Rubbish from the BBC
Yes I watched the rerun on Sky Sports and was surprised how much possession we had and good chances created compared with what BBC 5Live suggested. Indeed, according to them, we should have been 0-2 down in the first 20 minutes. Very strange.
