Serious question for you and others. How capable is our squad i.e. could we go to the swamp playing squad players and expect to win or is it not as deep as that?
I think the squad is very capable. I think in certain areas, yes, we could go there without first choice players and expect to win. I’d want our first choice players rested and ready for any of our rivals, hence me wanting him to rest Fern today and give Sané and Kev an early bath. I’d be the same if we were playing arse, spuds or Chelsea too.

Against a West Ham side, going through an awful time, without their first choice keeper and with their defensive record, I think risking Vinny would be stupid, playing Fern when he’s a booking away from a suspension is also daft.

So not only are we starting with Ya Ya, you want to play Tosin in the same side.
There are no easy games in the Prem, if you start messing around with the formation of the side as you are suggesting we could easily lose, but hey key players would be rested for the derby, so that's ok.
No, I wouldn’t mess with the formation mate, although he could do, but the personnel can change. There’s no point having a squad if we’re not going to use it. Would you risk Vinny today with his injury record, baring in mind it’d be his 3rd game in a week?

This has Palace Chelsea writren all over it. Feeling down after yesterdays results for United and Liverpool. Expecting the worst for today. Guess my lifelong City blues have yet to be kicked fully into touch....

Got to be a big performance from us today to get back to the high standards needed for the derby.

Oh and if you are a 'silent' fan, it would be a big help if you made some noise today. Your team needs you!

Ederson

Danilo
Otamendi
Mangala
Delph

Sterling
De Bruyne
Gundogan
Silva
Silva

Aguero

More than enough to win, yellow cards protected, Walker rested.

care to explain? or are you saying we are not far ahead of the rags in quality & depth?

For months most (me included) are saying we are far better than the rags which we are, so why should we be fearful if we dont have e.g. Sane?

I know (or at least hope) you’re playing devil’s advocate but am happy to explain anyway.

It’s an away match...
Against our nearest title rivals...
Who play shite-looking but effective football...
And who have just taken 6/6 points, which few on here expected...
We’ve lost our best form and have looked a bit more laboured recently...
And it’s a derby match, which often produces upsets.

Finally, I’m not fearful. Just looking at the two games together and leaving the “one match at at time” mantra to shit pundits.

We have a carefully and expensively assembled squad. To use two squaddies v WHU represents good resource utilisation.

We might look a little ropey defensively and in holding midfield with Vinny and Fernandinho out, but even with Sane out, every single attacking player that will play today will be of a high Champions League quality.

If this was against a top 6 side I would be concerned with the potential changes, but it isn't.

With all due respect to West Ham, these games should be bread and butter for us.

You can't be droppping points at home to bottom half teams and expect to win the league.

On another point, regarding Kompany, Ferny and Sane. and looking at who to rest today.

Say we drop Kompany for Mangala and we go a 1 or 2 down then we have a battle on our hands and bringing Kompany off the bench would only steady us, if we drop Sane and we are struggling we can bring him on to improve our chances of scoring. Ferny is a difficult one as he contributes at both ends.

Believe me you are not on your own, at some point West Ham will put in a performance i'm just hoping it isn't today.

On a side note while i am hoping to see Sane play part of me is dreading the thought of watching the legend that is Zabba trying to compete with him.

One game at a time. The boost of our last minute victory will hopefully galavanize the players. In truth we haven’t been brilliant for about a month but still getting the results. The run we went on after sterling scored at Bournemouth was incredible so hopefully this will kickstart another.

Dont disagree with any of that but would add we should definitely going to the swamp 8 points ahead and Pep has to pick a team today to ensure that
I am sure he will be thinking exactly that mate, and it wouldn’t surprise me to see Vinny Fern and Leroy all start, he is certainly his own man

Must play David Silva, fundamental to the way we play. IF we can get well ahead then sub him off ASAP ready for the swamp. Wednesdays team will be very interesting

Spot on. This would be what i would go for, and i hope Pep will too. Sane on the bench if we struggle to score. Vinny and Dinho rested.

The starting line up on Wednesday should not include a single player who will start at the swamp

It’s absolutely obvious that the squad is definitely deep enough to change two players and beat West Ham but probably not deep enough to have those two missing from United and beat them.

Because United are better than West Ham.

It’s not exactly rocket science.

Movement off the ball we have started playing statues again the last few games, hope it is an eye on the scum and not wanting to get injured, if we move off the ball 5+ 0
