The table doesn't lie and if they are 4th they are 4th best currently, on the other hand while 45 points from 25 games is a good return for West Ham, there are other teams that should be on more than that,Chelsea, Lliverpool spurs arsenal should all be doing better than they are and above 45 points from 25, so in that respect it is a bit of a false position for West Ham.West Ham deserve to be in the top 4. The table hardly ever lies.
But their results vs top 9 teams aren’t that impressive.
Leicester h 3-0
Everton a 1-4
Spurs a 3-3 (two goals very late on)
US h 1-1
Liverpool a 1-2
Villa h 2-1
United h 1-3
Chelsea a 0-3
Everton h 0-1
Liverpool h 1-3
Spurs h 2-1
So they hardly drop points vs lower placed teams.
They didn’t play this week. We did. As we have been doing every week over the past what 3 months? We rotate and have a rhythm so I don’t see this being a problem.
It won’t be easy. But I doubt WHU is the team that will take points from us. Especially with our players that will warm the bench tomorrow afternoon, able to come on.
I like WHU. But that’s as far as it goes. Go and get your points from the other teams in the top 9.
This is a huge (massive, even) game, specially with it being the first game played over the weekend. Win it (and it won't be easy), and we'll go, at least temporarily, 13 points clear. Which will put pressure on the chasing duo. On sunday, Leicester host Arsenal, which they'll probably win. And later on, our quiet neighbours travel to Chelsea, who are going well under Tuchel. That could be a draw.
Can't see Aquero starting and if I was picking the team he would remain on the bench. Only a fool would take exception to the rest of those names though.ederson
