Met Office forecasts. See screen shot below. These are the forecast gusts for 6pm. 39 mph which is not that high. Sustained wind speed 19 mph. Nothing extraordinary about that.

Certainly looks that way. Not sure Stansted could take a 380, even if it was going anywhere near.

Why would it fly to Amsterdam when it could go to Birmingham or Heathrow? It was struggling before on its second approach, both wings dipping everywhere.
