West Ham Post Match Thread | Friendly in Iceland

Preseason games are supposed to help players fitness, how the hell can West Ham do that when they park the bus and don't move from their penalty area?

Results don't matter but the speed with which we move the ball now is fantastic to watch.
They also said he was holding back some first team players for their game against the rags next week, really strange way of preparing his first team for the season

He isn't a Pep player. Not in any way, shape or form.

He's just generally very untidy with the football. He looks like he's kicking a grenade, waiting for his fucking legs to be blown off. Statistically he may have better distribution than Stones, for example, but Stones looks like a player. A player than can be taught. Mangala doesn't look like he has it in him to learn.

Playing him in a back 3 in the league would be suicide. In fact playing him at all would be equally as bad.

In that case, if we are to play 3 at the back, we need 2 more centre halves.

100% correct. Some people really thought he could turn it around. But he can't. He is simply not a footballer that can play in Pep's system. No matter how dire the CB situation becomes.

I'm sure a couple of the Hammers defenders will be telling Hart to shut the fuck up. What an annoying twat.

As for the game, it was like watching paint dry. If West Ham didn't want to play, they shouldn't have signed up to the friendly. That was God awful to watch.

Nobody is going to listen to that non stop verbal diarrhoea, they will just blot it out & not notice when he says something important.

We looked pretty decent, but we were not able to penetrate their defence repeatedly like we were against Spurs. The opposition certainly played more defensively. The pitch also looked to be on the small side. Not a lot of space for the wide players to operate in. We're still not clinical enough in front of goal, which is my only major concern going into the new season. The fullbacks have made a huge difference and Danilo, in particular, looks to be well worth the fee paid.

Totally agree with you. If Jesus and Kun can get really sharp we will hammer a lot of teams.
