Fernando very good at screening the centre halves, almost dropping in beside them at times, which made us far more solid in terms of shape.

Better from everybody really until the last 15 minutes. Good games banked for Fernando and Mangala. Worried about Silva. Pellegrini had an excellent chance at 2-0 up with 20 minutes to go to bring on Pozo for Silva and show a bit of faith in youth for the first real time in his City career. Glad we got Nasri and Dzeko instead, they made such a huge difference to the game rather than giving youth a bit of a chance in a safe game when we had Silva go off and Aguero worried about an injury. Tosser.
Aside from that gripe it was job done, though West Ham were abysmal in the first half.
As for the effort, I think Silva's injury took the air out of the team.

We weren't trying to learn, we were trying to win. A 2 goal lead is not an automatic win, had it been 3 or 4 then people might have a point saying the game was won, but at 2-0 we needed to see the game out. The Silva injury completely ruined our rhythm and brought us down to West Ham's shambolic level and we could easily have let one in and made a real game of it.Bobby Heaton Moor said:Very poor from the manager today to not get Pozo on. Spot on. We're in an absolute bun fight for 4th place. Putting Pozo on would have been a completely unnecessary risk. Pleased to see a much hungrier Ya Ya today, and I'm concerned now only about Merlin. Looked bad
