West Ham Post Match Thread

Good first half. Sloppy as fuck second.

A win is a win though.

Yaya good today with Mangala and Fernando.

Demichellis poor and Kolorov not great.

Dzeko wank in his 10 min cameo!

Very poor from the manager today to not get Pozo on. What are we gonna learn from bringing on Nasri and Dzeko that we don't know already?
We weren't trying to learn, we were trying to win. A 2 goal lead is not an automatic win, had it been 3 or 4 then people might have a point saying the game was won, but at 2-0 we needed to see the game out. The Silva injury completely ruined our rhythm and brought us down to West Ham's shambolic level and we could easily have let one in and made a real game of it.
This. Today was about getting three points, nothing more.

We've been up by 3 and he didn't play him then either

Thought Mangala, Navas and Fernando were superb today!

Comfortable win, and should have been more were it not for finishing/final passes going astray.

Thought Yaya did great for our 2nd and then reverted to type. He was so laconic and languid, not to mention so weak in the tackle 2nd half.

Dzeko, in his cameo, embodied everything I resent about him. Poison.

And Martin needs to calm down a bit when he's on the ball (or maybe he's too calm!). But I think, at this stage, he and Mangala look our most settled Centre Back pairing by a mile! Another clean sheet for them!

A nice, comfortable win is just the tonic after a torrid week.

Never felt more like singing the blues. . .

All in here please.

Better from everybody really until the last 15 minutes. Good games banked for Fernando and Mangala. Worried about Silva. Pellegrini had an excellent chance at 2-0 up with 20 minutes to go to bring on Pozo for Silva and show a bit of faith in youth for the first real time in his City career. Glad we got Nasri and Dzeko instead, they made such a huge difference to the game rather than giving youth a bit of a chance in a safe game when we had Silva go off and Aguero worried about an injury. Tosser.

Aside from that gripe it was job done, though West Ham were abysmal in the first half.
Again, if they fluked a goal on the counter, the manager would have been crucified for putting Pozo in rightly or wrongly.

As for the effort, I think Silva's injury took the air out of the team.

Spot on. We're in an absolute bun fight for 4th place. Putting Pozo on would have been a completely unnecessary risk. Pleased to see a much hungrier Ya Ya today, and I'm concerned now only about Merlin. Looked bad

Second that. There is no way we can put Pozo on after the run we have been on. Silva went off around 74th and there was another 25 minutes still to play and a goal from West Ham would made for a nervy end and I am surprised lot of people are on about it.

Great performance from us after our run. Fernando was amazing, so was Navas, Yaya, Aguero and Mangala. Could have scored more but 2-0 works.

Thought we played alot better today, especially first half...why couldnt we play with that intensity we had in the first hald over these past few weeks? Second half was pretty average really, woulsnt say we were poor wouldnt say we were excellent but bottom line is we got the 3 vital points that leaves us a point behind the scum. Onwards and upwards

I agree.

Pellegrini just could not risk it especially how the season has materialized and if the score went 2-1 then it could have been a very tricky last few minutes of the game. Everyone wants to see the young players but you have to pick your moments and Pellegrini got the substitutions right today.
