West Ham Post Match Thread

good win today 2nd half wasn't that good but the points are all that matter right now...hope silva is ok and bring on villa next week!!

You can only beat what's in front of you and we beat a poor West Ham quite comfortably which makes it difficult to quantify this result against other performances against our top 4 rivals.

Whether 4141 or 4231, we looked far more balanced today than we have for a long time, its just a pity its taken so many disappointing results and so deep into the season for MP to start doing what many have been calling for for so long.

Regulation win and a good performance from Fernando in his favoured CDM position in front of the 2 CB's. Navas, Silva, Aguero, Zabs & Yaya also played well and deserve a mention. Alas it too little too late and I can't believe our season has come down to a battle for 3rd place against the rags.

Although I'm glad of the win, I'm strangely deflated also, I suppose because I'm finding it difficult to get over what might have been this season....... Onwards & hopefully upwards eh........

Again, if they fluked a goal on the counter, the manager would have been crucified for putting Pozo in rightly or wrongly.

As for the effort, I think Silva's injury took the air out of the team.

Spot on. We're in an absolute bun fight for 4th place. Putting Pozo on would have been a completely unnecessary risk. Pleased to see a much hungrier Ya Ya today, and I'm concerned now only about Merlin. Looked bad

We were 2-0 up against a team that didn't give a shit.

We're ALWAYS going to be in pressure situations from now. This isn't an excuse not to play young players.

There is no way we should have had Pozo on in todays game. We have been on a fuck all run and the last thing we need is to promote youngsters just for fucks sake. Had we been on a run of 4-5 wins we could have afforded to.

Second that. There is no way we can put Pozo on after the run we have been on. Silva went off around 74th and there was another 25 minutes still to play and a goal from West Ham would made for a nervy end and I am surprised lot of people are on about it.

Great performance from us after our run. Fernando was amazing, so was Navas, Yaya, Aguero and Mangala. Could have scored more but 2-0 works.

Sorry mate but you could put a six foot turd in that shirt and it would be better than Djeko.
So why can't Pozo get a kick ?

could do with more speed in the team, some of our players look slow and sluggish at times.

Glad we got the job done, and got the 3pts, hope David is ok certainly took the life out of the match after the incidence, I thought we did well in the 1st half but the 2nd half again we seemed to go through the motions, good to see Lampard in the middle, thought Fernando had a good game and Mangala and Demichellis didn't do to badly in defence, so well done lads.................

1st half good, 2nd half ho hum, lost momentum & focus after Silva went off but like others have said, just getting the 3 points and winning was all that mattered. Good from Navas, Mangala and Ya Ya today, MDM continues to worry me & looks like his legs have gone.

Dzeko would have offered a lot defending set pieces. You need experience to deal with these situations. We cannot afford to experiment with an unknown right now. If we were a comfortable 2nd/3rd it would have been fine, but we could lose our CL place.

Also putting Pozo upfront alone would have given us 0 outball as he won't win anything in the air against Reid/Collins and the ball would have just come back had we been under pressure.
