That's what I'm saying. Kolarov is better than Clichy defensively. Clichy is a coward in the big matches. I will be nervous if Clichy starts.

Bit harsh on clichy both have had fantastic season just prefer kolarov as he's improved 10 fold his defending is know very good and he gives us a great attacking option. Anyway same team for me.

I hear what you're saying but, unlike Villa, West Ham have decent wide players (Jarvis and Downing, not world beaters I know) so I would just prefer a more defensive minded player for this game.
I expect him to play same team as last with downing on right and Diame on the left. Think clichy has played all 3 games v west ham this year, and played well in all so he will opt for him again I'd think.

Surely to goodness we can't screw this one up now can we? West Ham are not world beaters and 7/8 of the players that played in our 9-0 aggregate win against them will likely play on Sunday. We have the title in our sights and they don't have anything to play for, yes Carroll is a threat but it's a case of not giving away stupid free kicks and corners. I have every faith the lads will pull through in this one but please let's not get carried away and think it's a foregone conclusion. I know for certain that the players won't, pellegrini won't let them. The players know what to do

The way I see it is this, we have beaten far better sides this season, the team look up for it, but this is football the mentality of the team will account for a lot

I posted this on another thread about Atkinson refereeing us:-

FA Cup v Stoke
Charity Shield v Chelsea
League Cup v Sunderland

One left for him

Prem v WHU.

Not my fav ref but seems to be a lucky charm.

I'd just like us to win comfy if possible this time.

All our 'trophy wins' have been very close even though we normally score shed loads of goals.

Just once do it the easy way lads.

I'll obviously take a 0-0 draw with us hanging on for the last 45 mins....

Anything can be screwed up, because that's football. If it weren't the case, then it would indeed be true that money can buy silverware, which it clearly can't (cf. last season). There's guts, there's luck, there's something intangible, that willingness to go the extra half-yard, call it what you will.
But I've felt different, somehow, since we beat Everton, a ground that's given us nothing for years and years. We absolutely had to win, and we did (although we made a bit of a meal of it). And if anything, I was more frightened about last night's game than I am about Sunday. We've won ourselves the freedom to draw. That's exactly why I think we'll win.
