West Ham Thread 2013/14

Much as I'd like to say City were brilliant, you have to say that was one of the worst semi-final displays I have seen.

What was the point of putting the kids out at Forest? I thought it was to have a real go at City in a competition where they were so close to Wembley. It made sense. Their starting line up was not that weak. Plenty of experience, just no fight or organisation. Contrast that with Crystal Palace.

They were resigned to getting beat. Deliberate game plan from Sam? I doubt it. What they need is some self-belief and sense of purpose

West Ham performance at Cardiff is all important. They can lose there, but they must show up and give them a game

BBC 1223:
Football - Cardiff v West Ham (Saturday, 1500 GMT)
West Ham United forward Carlton Cole
West Ham United striker Carlton Cole finds the perfect way to cure his aching muscles in the wake of Wednesday's 6-0 Capital One Cup thrashing at Manchester City. The former England forward has been preparing for Saturday's crucial game against fellow strugglers Cardiff City in a cryotherapy chamber. Cryotherapy is the practice of exposing the body to extreme temperatures as low as -160C to provoke a process of muscle regeneration and immune-system stimulation.
Is he having a fucking laugh? what aching muscles, cant remember him swinging a leg?

West ham need to fuck Allardyce off and bring in a new man, who in turn needs to bring in a Robbie Savage esq player. Someone with desire and passion who can lifta team and beup for a scrap (Barton!!)
He then has to find a forward from somewhere, like we did with Mpenza
Hope not. What's our last match of the season? West Ham at home. Remember the last time we played at home with Barton in the opposing team, and what he did then? Twot!!

Feel sorry for Sam, stood out there is his coat getting pissed, his side wrecked with injuries and getting abused by his own fans.

He's a good bloke really.

How much abuse did the West Ham fans really give him though? I was in 111 next to the away end last night and I didn't hear anything that could be construed as abuse - there was a lot of good natured banter involving both sets of fans, much of it revolving around Allardyce admittedly, but I didn't hear anything that was particularly vitriolic or have I missed something? For me, the West Ham fans took that defeat really well and maintained their sense of gallows humour throughout without ever turning on their manager in a nasty way.

Is 'F**k Off Sam Allardyce' on repeat not vitriolic then?

Yes, but I thought that was just us singing it!

No he isn't - he is an overpaid, overrated fat twat who's teams play some of the worst long-ball shite I have ever seen outside of the Sunday Pub League.
He's a dinosaur.

Not to mention being a fully paid-up member of the Baconface arse-licking club.

That said, I don't think he's ever presided over a relegation so even with all the dour football his teams have played down the years he must have something about him. That could all change for him this season though (providing he can keep his job) and despite the obvious gulf in class last night I doubt that it's ever been this easy for teams in general to take points off a team managed by him.

Some early teams news for the 2nd leg. Pellegrini is going to give some of the younger players a chance to prove their worth.

I think we should agree with WHU to both play our EDS teams....
